On the morning of September 3rd, the 220kV Qinyun Substation, located in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, welcomed a special group of visitors. As soon as their vehicles came to a halt, members of a foreign media delegation put on their hard hats and began their on-site tour. After just a few steps, a gray-and-white quadruped robot dog immediately captured everyone's attention.

Named "Qinbao," the robot dog led the way at the front of the group, steadily navigating complex terrain, nimbly squeezing through gaps between equipment, and venturing deep into high-risk areas that are difficult for people to reach. Frauleen Fredrich, News Director of the Pohnpei Public Broadcasting Corporation from the Federated States of Micronesia, watched intently. In her hometown, storms and floods perennially damage utility poles and power facilities, and "power supply is frequently interrupted." She told reporters that "Qinbao" left the deepest impression on her: "It can take the place of humans in high-risk scenarios. If we had this kind of technology, the island's power supply would be much more stable."
The inspection robot dog "Qinbao" can exert a pulling force of two tons. Zhao Guowen, a producer with "Guowen Channel" in Australia, engaged in a "three-on-one" tug-of-war with it on the spot. Despite dripping with sweat, the three people were effortlessly pulled along. "It completely overpowered us; we didn't stand a chance," Guo Wen told reporters. He expressed great optimism about this smart equipment from China Southern Power Grid and hopes that the technological innovations of China's power grid can be promoted worldwide.
In Hengqin, what the foreign journalists witnessed is precisely the path of high-quality development forged by Guangdong's green energy industry. This increasingly integrated green power grid is providing a vivid "Guangdong Answer" for the energy transition in China and across the globe.
