On the night of the Qixi Festival, many couples moved their dates from restaurants and cinemas to the exhibition halls inside the Guangdong Museum. This side-by-side exhibition viewing relieves the pressure to constantly "perform," allowing for both conversation and comfortable silence. It has become a new way for young people to seek relaxation and gauge whether they are on the same wavelength.

Catering to this trend, some venues in Guangdong have actively integrated cultural experiences into socializing and dating. The Guangdong Museum previously hosted a Dragon Boat Festival-themed matchmaking event, replacing awkward interrogations with joint tasks such as team-based trivia and making fragrant sachets. The Shenzhen Jewelry Museum has also organized youth networking events centered on jewelry culture and handicrafts.

Museums in Guangdong are turning exhibition viewing into a daily lifestyle. Xiao Haiming, director of the Guangdong Museum, noted that the "Night at the Guangdong Museum" program is now in its third consecutive year, organizing nighttime educational services through a combination of exhibitions, performances and interactions. Wang Shaoqiang, director of the Guangdong Museum of Art, proposed linking cultural venues and city landmarks along both banks of Bai'etan to form a cultural and artistic service ecosystem integrating exhibition viewing, study tours and hands-on experiences.

"Free admission, extended hours and increased activities" are creating a highly accessible pathway for public participation in Guangdong. Many residents say they will visit museums whenever there is a new exhibition of interest or they have free time in the evening. Exhibition viewing has become their routine after work or on weekends. Sometimes they stay for 40 to 50 minutes just to view a single exhibition because they can return anytime. Museums are transforming from tourist destinations into daily leisure spaces that anyone can revisit repeatedly.
