Recently, 22 young students and scholars from the United States, organized by the ART CSSA and the ECCSSA (Chinese Students and Scholars Association of Eastern and Central United States), visited Beijing and Jiangsu for exchanges focusing on history and culture, technological innovation, art and design, industrial development and youth development.

In Beijing, the US young people followed historical and cultural routes to trace the roots of Chinese civilization and gain a deeper understanding of China's historical heritage. At Mutianyu Great Wall, youth representatives climbed to higher ground and took in the sweeping views while experiencing the resilience and perseverance of the Chinese nation. At the ruins of the Old Summer Palace, they paused to view the historical remains and reflect on the value of peace and development. The delegation also visited multiple venues including the Beijing Eight Imperial Handicrafts Museum, China Archaeological Museum and the National Museum of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Through traditional craftsmanship, archaeological discoveries, traditional Chinese medicine culture and contemporary art, they experienced the continuity and inclusiveness of Chinese civilization.

In Nanjing, Jiangsu, the US young people strolled through the streets and alleys of the ancient city and experienced intangible cultural heritage crafts, gaining a firsthand feel for the cultural character of Jiangsu through everyday life. In Suzhou, the delegation visited the Suzhou Embroidery Town, observing embroidery techniques and pattern design up close and experiencing the delicate aesthetics and craftsmanship of Jiangnan's intangible cultural heritage. At an "AI + culture" workshop, young people from China and the US jointly explored the application of artificial intelligence in cultural communication and art design.

Many of the US young people said the event brought together history and culture, cutting-edge technology and youth interaction, giving them a more authentic, multifaceted and vibrant view of China.
