On August 6th, "Dear You" officially premiered in Thailand, sparking enthusiastic responses among local audiences.

Several Thai-Chinese influencers, cultural tourism creators and cultural media bloggers attended the screening and shared their thoughts on platforms such as TikTok, Facebook and Instagram, recommending the film to more Thai audiences.

Thai cultural tourism blogger Manassavee, who has millions of followers, has long been passionate about documenting Chaoshan culture and stories of Chaoshan grandmothers through his lens. "My grandmother was also from Shantou, so I feel this film may be related to my family." During the screening, he was moved to tears several times. After watching the film, he immediately posted a video of his conversation with his Chaoshan grandmother on TikTok and shared his thoughts about the movie. Within 24 hours of its release, the video received nearly 7,000 reposts, likes and comments.

Also moved to tears in the cinema was Thai Chinese-language education blogger Lin Yonggui (also known as Banban), who has millions of followers and had recently completed a root-seeking trip to Chaozhou. "It feels like I am watching my own story," Lin said. He added that Zheng Musheng, a character in the film, reminded him of his grandfather, who left Chaoshan for Thailand to seek a better life.

Chen Yichun, a Chaoshan-dialect blogger who organizes cultural study tours to Chaoshan for Thai-Chinese youth, and Chen Zhoubin, a Chinese-language education blogger, actively recommended "Dear You" to their students and online followers after the screening. Chen Yichun noted that students were always deeply moved and delighted during their visits to Chaoshan.
Thai Chinese-languageeducation blogger Niuniu and Thai cultural tourism blogger XinXin, both of whom are of Chinese descent, shared similar feelings. "I grew up listening to the Chaoshan dialect. I had heard many Chinese friends recommend this film before, and after watching it today, I found it truly meaningful and deeply relatable," Niuniu told reporters.
Nida (Chinese name: Ma Huizhen), a Thai-Chinese singer who participated in the first season of The Voice Thailand, watched the film together with her parents and two younger brothers. Nida told Yangcheng Evening Newsthat she had already watched the film once, but was still moved to tears the second time. "Hearing the Chaoshan dialect in the film felt very familiar because I grew up listening to my parents and relatives speak it." At the event, Nida also emotionally sang the film's theme song "Moonlit Tea Brewing" in both Thai and the Chaoshan dialect, expressing her best wishes for the film's release in Thailand.
