On July 21st, the 2026 "Global Writers in Guangdong Program" ecological literary field trip brought writers to Zhongshan. A delegation of writers from APEC member economies, including Indonesia, South Korea, Mexico, Peru, Singapore, and Vietnam, arrived at the Museumof Dr. Sun Yat-sen and Cuiheng Village via the Shenzhen-Zhongshan link, immersing themselves in the birthplace and childhood surroundings of Sun Yat-sen amid light rain.

On the morning of the same day, guided by a docent, the writers first visited the main building of Sun Yat-sen's former residence. The two-story house, designed and built under Sun Yat-sen's personal supervision, combines Chinese and Western architectural styles, with its red brick walls and timber structure adding distinctive charm amid lush greenery.

Vietnamese full-time writer Nguyen Khac Ngan Vi was particularly fascinated by the kitchen inside the former residence. "These everyday scenes are the most touching," she told reporters. "The layout of the kitchen reveals the daily life of a family and helps me better understand the family environment in which Mr. Sun Yat-sen grew up." The weathered marks on the walls and the century-old tamarind tree in the courtyard also caught her attention, prompting her to stop frequently and capture these moving details with her phone.

"The former residence has strong visual appeal. For visitors like us from later generations, it allows us to gain a direct understanding of the environment in which he once lived," said Tien Ming Lee, a Singaporean sinologist and foreign professor at Sun Yat-sen University. What impressed him most was Sun Yat-sen's humble background. "He actually came from an ordinary, even relatively poor family, but eventually achieved remarkable accomplishments. This shows that humble origins can also give rise to great figures."

APEC成员经济体作家走进中山，品读伟人故里文脉

7月21日，2026“全球作家写广东”计划生态采风主题活动走进中山。来自印度尼西亚、韩国、墨西哥、秘鲁、新加坡、越南等APEC成员经济体的作家团，经深中通道抵达孙中山故居纪念馆与翠亨村，在细雨濛濛中沉浸式探访伟人成长之地。

当天上午，在讲解员的带领下，作家们首先走进孙中山故居主楼。这幢由孙中山亲自设计主持建造的两层小楼，融合了中西建筑风格，红墙砖木结构在绿植掩映中别具韵味。

越南全职作家阮刻银微对故居中的厨房格外感兴趣，“这些生活化的场景最能打动人。”她告诉记者，“从厨房的布置可以看出一个家庭的日常状态，也让我更能理解孙中山先生成长的家庭环境。”墙上斑驳的痕迹、院落里那棵有着百年历史的酸子树，都让她频频驻足，用手机记录下这些触动人心的细节。

“孙中山故居的整体视觉效果很好，尤其是给我们这些后代参观，能直观感受到他当年的生活环境。”新加坡籍汉学家、中山大学外籍教授李添明表示，最让他触动的是孙中山平凡的出身。“他其实出身于一个普通甚至比较贫穷的家庭，但最终成就了一番伟业。这告诉我们，平凡的出身同样可以造就英雄。”
