Guangdong leads China's robot IPO boom

In the first half of this year, China's robotics industry witnessed an unprecedented wave of initial public offerings (IPOs). Data compiled by the reporter indicates that by the end of June, more than 50 robotics-related companies were queuing for IPOs on the Chinese mainland's A-share market and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. An analysis of 123 listed companies across the robotics industry chain on the A-share and Hong Kong stock market shows that Guangdong ranks first nationwide with 35 listed robotics-related companies, maintaining a commanding lead.

In 2025, sales revenue from Guangdong's robotics industry exceeded 140.4 billion yuan. Over the past three years, the industry's average annual growth rate reached 8.4%. During the same period, the average annual growth rate of tax revenue generated by the industry outpaced that of the province's overall industrial tax revenue by 12.9 percentage points, indicating continuous improvement in the industry's profitability and value-added capacity. Meanwhile, Guangdong has ranked first in China's industrial robot output for six consecutive years, accounting for nearly 45% of the national total. The number of robotics companies in the province has exceeded 12,400, with industrial clustering becoming increasingly prominent.

As one of China's manufacturing powerhouses, Guangdong continues to generate strong demand for industrial robots as vast numbers of industrial companies accelerate intelligent transformation and upgrading. At the same time, its consumer market of over 100 million people and well-established commercial service scenarios have significantly boosted the adoption of service robots. Statistics show that in 2025, industrial robot, service robot, and special robot companies accounted for over 40%, around 40%, and around 20% of the total, respectively. Their shares of total sales revenue exceeded 50%, 30%, and 20%, respectively.
