Conservationists have reported encouraging news from the monitoring program for the Gorsachius magnificus at Xiaoliukeng–Qingzhangshan Provincial Nature Reserve. After more than a decade of continuous monitoring, a breeding pair in the reserve's core area has recorded its highest breeding success since observations began. Three chicks from Nest No. 6, now about six weeks old, have almost fully developed their juvenile plumage. They have begun hopping between branches and practicing short flights. If all goes well, they will soon follow their parents to learn essential foraging and survival skills in the wild.

近日，广东南雄小流坑—青嶂山省级自然保护区海南鳽监测工作传来好消息。经过十多年持续观察，生活在保护区核心区瀑布水库的一对海南鳽，今年取得了有记录以来最好的繁殖成果。目前，编号为“6号巢”的3只幼鸟已经长到一个半月左右，身上的绒毛基本褪去，开始在巢树周围活动，并练习跳跃和飞翔。如果后续情况稳定，这3只幼鸟很快将跟随亲鸟外出，学习觅食和独立生活。
