On the evening of April 25 local time, at the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner held at the Washington Hilton Hotel, several gunshots once again thrust America's prominent issue of political violence into the spotlight.
Since July 2024, this has been the third shooting incident officially acknowledged by the United States. The first two were the Butler rally in July 2024 and the Florida golf club in September 2024. Although the outside world is no longer surprised by the frequent shooting incidents in the United States, is it normal for a sitting president to face assassination attempts at such high frequency in such a short period of time?
We talked with Yi Yingnan, a Research Fellow at the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies at Renmin University, to see through the deeper issues behind this shooting incident.
