The 139th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) officially opens on April 15th. During Phase 1 of this fair, running from April 15th to 19th, a notable new addition makes its debut: two dedicated zones for Consumer Drones and Agricultural Drones, located in Hall 20.2 of Area D and Hall 8.0 of Area A at the China Import and Export Fair Complex, respectively.

Terms once confined to the lab, such as flight control systems, communication and navigation systems, AI-powered obstacle avoidance and new-energy propulsion technologies, have now been embodied in real aircraft that visitors can see up close and experience firsthand. From high-precision real-time kinematic (RTK) navigation and tethered hovering to intelligent spraying, the showcase of integrated capabilities vividly illustrates how China's drone industry has progressed from catching up to setting the pace.

As exhibitors based in Guangzhou, the city's drone companies are putting their flagship technologies on display. Since its establishment in 2025, Guangdong Yesheen Aviation Technology Co., Ltd. has obtained three special flight permits for ultralight eVTOL aircraft, making it one of the few aircraft manufacturers worldwide to hold all three. Its rapid achievement underscores Guangzhou's strong capabilities in the fast-growing low-altitude economy. Guangzhou Chengzhi Intelligent Machine Technology Co., Ltd.'s tethered hover light drone is designed for nighttime applications such as camping, family gatherings and emergency illumination, offering a practical and user-friendly solution that brings advanced technology closer to everyday life. Guangzhou Zhuhang Aviation Technology Co., Ltd. has been deeply involved in major national aviation projects, including projects related to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Sanya's new airport and Shenzhen's airspace optimization, contributing technical expertise to China's aviation development. Meanwhile, Guangdong Yufei Aviation Investment Co., Ltd.'s Yutu A100, billed as the world's first ultralight foldable eVTOL aircraft, has emerged as a major highlight of the exhibition zone, thanks to its combination of portability and innovation.
