The "2026 Macao International Parade," organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and other entities, was held in grand style on March 29th. Embodying the concept of "Love, Peace and Cultural Integration" and themed "The Maritime Silk Road as a bridge for cultural exchange," the event brought together performing groups from around the world and extraordinary local artists. In dazzling costumes, they sang and danced through lively neighbourhoods steeped in cultural charm, highlighting Macao's role as "a base for exchange and cooperation where Chinese culture is the mainstream and diverse cultures coexist," while contributing to the development of a vibrant "Cultural Macao."

First launched in 2011, the Parade has now entered its 12th edition and has grown into one of Macao's signature cultural events. This year's Parade brought together more than 10 visiting art groups from key countries and regions along the Maritime Silk Road, including France, Indonesia, Mozambique, the Netherlands, Portugal, the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong, China, alongside nearly 50 local groups. Together, around 1,600 performers presented a spectacular feast of cultural exchange.
The parade procession set off from the Ruins of St. Paul's, wound its way through the Historic Centre of Macao, and arrived at Largo de S. Domingos, where performers interacted at close range with residents and visitors. It then passed through Senado Square before reaching the "VIVA Carnival" at the Avenida Panorâmica do Lago Nam Van. Featuring distinctive gastronomy stalls, interactive experience games, face painting and other activities, the carnival injected even more vibrancy into the event.

Supported by the Education and Youth Development Bureau and other organizations, the event also saw the participation of a number of schools and educational institutions, including the Art Troupe of the Macau University of Science and Technology, the Lin Fong Pou Chai School Lion Dance Team, and the Hou Kong Middle School(Macao) Marching Band. The Art Troupe of the Macau University of Science and Technology and the Hou Kong Middle School Marching Band staged a marching performance and a choreographed marching band display, respectively, while the Lin Fong Pou Chai School Lion Dance Team presented dragon and phoenix dances.
