It was recently reported that a multidisciplinary team (MDT), led by Vice President Zhang Xiaoshen of the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University and Professor Nim Choi from Macao SAR's Centro Hospitalar Conde de São Januário (CHCSJ), has successfully performed the first cross-boundary remote atrial septal defect (ASD) repair and tricuspid valvuloplasty (TVP) using a Chinese-developed robot. This complex minimally invasive cardiac surgery (MICS) was completed remotely while the patient was under extracorporeal circulation (ECC) and cardiac arrest.
This milestone follows the joint team's previous success in two MICS cases for multi-valve replacement/repair using Chinese surgical robots, which laid the foundation for this cross-boundary operation. On the day of the surgery, the surgical and technical support teams from both hospitals maintained close coordination. Throughout the entire surgical procedure, the average one-way network latency was stably controlled at approximately 11 milliseconds.

In 2007, the team led by Academician Gao Changqing at the Chinese PLA General Hospital (301 Hospital) in Beijing successfully conducted China's first robotic MICS, pioneering robotic minimally invasive surgery (MIS) in the country. Zhang Xiaoshen stated that it is precisely these early explorations and sustained efforts that have allowed China's robotic cardiac surgery to gradually form a solid technical foundation and clinical system.
The First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University and Macao already have a strong history of collaboration mechanisms in cardiac surgery. Last year, Zhang's team successfully completed Macao's first implantation of a Chinese fully magnetically levitated artificial heart at CHCSJ. Moving forward, both parties will prioritize the scientific research and clinical translation of surgical robots as their primary direction for cooperation.

国产机器人首次跨境“补心”
记者近日获悉,暨南大学附属第一医院副院长张晓慎与澳门仁伯爵综合医院教授蔡念率领MDT团队成功实施首例国产机器人“跨境远程房间隔缺损修补术+三尖瓣成形术”,在体外循环、心脏停跳的情况下远程完成该类复杂微创心外科手术。
此前,联合团队已经成功完成了两例通过国产手术机器人进行的多瓣膜置换/修复的微创手术,为本次跨境手术奠定了基础。手术当日,两家医院的手术团队以及技术支持团队在跨境协同中保持高度默契。整个手术过程中,单向网络平均延时稳定控制在约11毫秒。

2007年,北京301医院高长青院士团队成功开展了我国首例不开胸机器人微创心脏手术,开创了我国机器人微创外科先河。张晓慎表示,正是这些早期探索与持续积累,使得中国机器人心脏外科逐步形成扎实的技术基础与临床体系。
据了解,暨南大学附属第一医院与澳门在心脏手术协作机制上已有良好的合作基础,去年,张晓慎团队在澳门仁伯爵综合医院顺利完成澳门本土首例国产全磁悬浮人工心脏植入术。未来,双方将手术机器人的科研及临床转换应用作为首要合作方向。
