As of 3:50 PM on February 23rd, the total national box office (including service fees) for the Chinese New Year film season reached 5.518 billion yuan, with Guangdong securing 556 million yuan and a 10% box office share to reclaim the Chinese New Year box office champion title after five years. In 2026, two Guangdong-produced films have surpassed 500 million yuan in box office revenue: "The Fire Raven" and "Boonie Bears: The Hidden Protector."

During the Chinese New Year holiday, Guangdong launched eight major movie-viewing benefit programs, integrating film consumption into the festive lives of the public. Leveraging the "Travel Guangdong Through Films" campaign, the province rolled out 60 film-themed tourism routes, connecting filming locations of multiple popular movies. Capitalizing on the popularity of "Scare Out," Shenzhen introduced four "citywalk" routes. Zhongshan launched the "One Ticket Stub for All Attractions" campaign, allowing audiences to enjoy ticket discounts at various scenic spots with their movie stubs. The film-themed check-in activities at Sunwen West Road pedestrian street even drove passenger flow to exceed 650,000.

Against the backdrop of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area integration, cross-city movie-going has emerged as a new trend. Macao residents traveled to Zhuhai to watch films, and Hong Kong citizens visited filming locations in Shenzhen, forming a cross-boundary consumption chain of "movie-going plus cultural tourism" and making films a cultural link connecting cities in the Greater Bay Area.

Film-derived consumption has emerged as a new growth driver. According to statistics, thanks to the influence of "Boonie Bears: The Hidden Protector" and its film and television series, the total passenger flow of Fantawild theme parks reached 2.79 million from the start of the holiday to the sixth day of the Chinese New Year, representing a year-on-year increase of 72% in passenger flow and 60% in revenue.
