The 2026 Spring Festival Temple Fair kicked off at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris on February 10th (local time). The event was hosted by the Permanent Delegation of the People's Republic of China to UNESCO, bringing together over 500 permanent representatives, international organization officials, and guests from various sectors across more than 100 countries and regions. They gathered to experience the festive atmosphere and the unique charm of Chinese New Year culture.

In her address, Yang Xinyu, China's Permanent Delegate of the People's Republic of China to UNESCO, noted that the Spring Festival Temple Fair serves as an excellent platform for international guests to gain a direct understanding of traditional Chinese customs and cultural connotations. Senior UNESCO officials, including Director-General of UNESCO Khaled El-Enany, President of UNESCO's 43rd General Conference Khondker M. Talha, and Chairperson of the Executive Board Nasser bin Hamad Al Hinzab, attended and delivered speeches. They noted that the successful inscription of the Spring Festival on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity has greatly advanced cultural exchange and mutual understanding among world civilizations, and that the spirit embodied by the Year of the Horse aligns with current global development needs. They expressed readiness to further deepen cooperation with China.

Wuji Fuyuan, a representative enterprise of Teochew Cuisine in Shantou, was designated as the protection unit for the provincial intangible cultural heritage item "Teochew Daa Laang". The company was invited to participate in the exhibition, presenting twelve distinctive Teochew delicacies with exquisite presentation. The dishes were artfully arranged in the shape of a red‑headed boat, integrating overseas Chinese hometown culture. Handmade beef balls, Teochew fish rice, braised foods, and Chaoshan rice cakes all showcased the light, fresh, mellow, and meticulously crafted essence of Teochew cuisine, earning widespread acclaim from attendees.

The Shantou food booth attracted a bustling crowd, with international guests expressing their admiration after tasting the offerings, and they were eager to learn about the culinary techniques and cultural symbolism. The chefs explained intangible cultural heritage techniques and the folk stories behind the dishes on-site, offering international guests an immersive experience in Teochew food culture.

During this event, Shantou also presented a selection of intangible cultural heritage and cultural and creative products from the Chaoshan region, including books telling the history of qiaopi (overseas Chinese remittance letters), books and merchandise by Xiao Lin Cartoons, the Year of the Horse paper‑cuttings, Chaozhou-embroidery ornaments inspired by the Zhuangyuan (First-place Scholar) robe, and bamboo‑woven oil-paper lantern gift box sets. These were presented as souvenirs to the guests, allowing the festive spirit of Shantou and its intangible cultural heritage to reach the world along with its cuisine.

从汕头到巴黎：广货行天下，潮菜走出海

法国当地时间2月10日，2026年春节庙会活动在法国巴黎联合国教科文组织总部隆重举行。本次活动由中国常驻联合国教科文组织代表团主办，百余个国家和地区的500余位常驻代表、国际组织官员及各界嘉宾齐聚现场，在喜庆氛围中感受中国春节文化的独特魅力。

中国常驻教科文组织大使杨新育致辞指出，春节庙会为各国嘉宾直观了解中国传统习俗与文化内涵提供了良好平台。联合国教科文组织总干事阿纳尼、大会主席塔尔哈、执行局主席辛扎布等高层代表出席并致辞，他们表示春节申遗成功有力促进了世界文明交流互鉴，马年精神与当前全球发展需求相契合，愿同中国进一步深化合作。

汕头潮菜代表企业吴记富苑作为省级非遗“潮汕打冷”项目保护单位受邀参展，携十二道潮汕特色美食惊艳亮相，以红头船造型摆盘融入侨乡文化，手打牛肉丸、鱼饭、卤味、粿品等菜品，尽显潮菜清鲜醇和、精工细作的精髓，深受现场嘉宾喜爱。

汕头美食展位人气高涨，外国嘉宾品尝后纷纷点赞，并主动了解制作工艺与文化寓意。厨师团队现场讲解非遗技艺与美食背后的民俗故事，让国际友人深入感受潮汕饮食文化。

此次亮相，汕头还同步展示了讲述侨批故事的书籍、小林漫画书籍及周边、马年剪纸、状元袍潮绣摆件、竹编油纸灯笼礼盒等潮汕非遗文创精品，并作为伴手礼赠予现场嘉宾，让汕头的年味与非遗随美食一同走向世界。
