The 2026 Greater Bay Area (GBA) Lantern Carnival is scheduled to officially light up on February 10th, the Minor Chinese New Year (Xiaonian), and will run through May 10th. Centered on the theme "Bay Unity, Splendor Through the Ages", the carnival will feature five major exhibition zones, with plans for over 100 large-scale themed lantern installations, alongside nearly 1,000 performances with GBA characteristics.

According to the organizers, the festival has innovatively introduced a "day-and-night" visiting model. During the day, visitors can take part in activities such as offering prayers to Mazu for blessings, jungle flight zipline adventure, and outdoor camping. At night, they can board a small train for an immersive lantern-viewing experience. This year's lantern carnival has stepped up the application of advanced technologies, with VR interaction, artificial intelligence, holographic projection, surround sound systems, interactive floor displays, and motion-sensing devices widely deployed across the venue to stage an immersive show titled "Magic Forest". Meanwhile, a themed light show at the Nansha Tianhou Temple ancient architectural complex will also be staged concurrently.

Among the highlights, the "Galloping Stars, Steed Soaring" lantern installation at Gate No. 1 consists of 11 galloping horses and city flowers symbolizing nine cities and two SARs of the GBA. The "Vibrant Greater Bay Area" lantern installation features the mascots of the 15th National Games, "Xiyangyang" and "Lerongrong", and iconic landmarks across the GBA. The "Ecological Symphony" exhibition zone showcases achievements in ecological conservation through imagery such as mangroves and Chinese white dolphins. Meanwhile, the "Millennial Dream, Living Traditions" exhibition zone includes a traditional Chinese-style market street with 165 food vendors offering local specialties such as Zhengguo Wonton, Roast Goose Rice Noodles, and Jun'an Steamed Pork.

2026年粤港澳大湾区灯会“爆款灯组”大揭秘

2026年粤港澳大湾区灯会计划于2月10日（农历小年）正式亮灯开放，展期持续至5月10日。本届灯会以“湾区同心·华彩千秋”为主题，共设置五大展区，规划布置百组大型主题灯景，并将举办近千场湾区特色演艺活动。

据介绍，灯会创新构建了“白+黑”全时游玩模式。日间，游客可参与妈祖祈福、丛林飞跃、户外营地等活动；夜间则可乘坐小火车沉浸式赏灯。本次灯会加大了科技应用力度，园区内广泛运用VR互动、人工智能、全息投影、环绕声场、交互地屏及体感装置等技术，打造了魔法森林大秀。同时，南沙天后宫古建筑群主题灯光秀也将同步上演。

位于1号大门的“星河驰骋·骏马腾云”灯组，以象征大湾区城市的11匹骏马及市花为元素；“活力大湾区”灯组，则呈现了十五运会吉祥物“喜洋洋”“乐融融”及大湾区城市地标；“绿野仙踪，生态和鸣”展区通过红树林、中华白海豚等意象展现生态建设成果；“千年一梦，烟火人间”展区设有国风集市通道，汇聚165家美食商铺，提供正果云吞、烧鹅濑粉、均安蒸猪等特色小吃。
