From Julong Bay Taikoo Li and Sam's Club Guangzhou Liwan store to K11 Select in Panyu district, Guangzhou's commercial scene is embracing the new year with a surge of "first stores, first launches, and first exhibitions," reshaping the city's consumption landscape. The dense wave of new commercial developments is redefining the spatial layout of Guangzhou, the "Millennium Commercial Capital."

Since July 2025, Guangzhou has seen one to two new shopping centers open almost every month. Data shows that from 2021 to 2024, the number of first stores in Guangzhou grew at an average annual rate of 25%, with over 600 international brands entering the market. As of October 2025, the city had introduced nearly 1,800 first stores.

In the first phase of Julong Bay Taikoo Li, among the 30 brands that settled in, seven were first stores in Guangzhou. After its strategic upgrade, the mall reported a 36% year-on-year increase in holiday foot traffic and a 25% rise in total sales, achieving record highs in both foot traffic and revenue.

Even before opening,Julong Bay Taikoo Li had positioned itself as a pet-friendly zone and avant-garde art curation space, aiming to become a riverside destination where nature, culture, and commerce coexist seamlessly.

The Sam's Club Liwan store has further enhanced its member experience, with specialized facilities such as optical biometers for youth vision testing in its optical center.

Art and theater have become key elements in shaping immersive retail experiences. At the end of December 2025, Guangzhou's K11 launched a "Theater Performance Season," bringing the ninth-anniversary special performance of the globally acclaimed immersive theater "Sleep No More" to South China for the first time.

广州:年初岁末,首发首店经济引领消费潮
聚龙湾太古里、山姆荔湾店、番禺K11 Select……岁末年初之际,广州商业正通过“首店、首发、首展”的密集落子,重塑消费地图。密集的商业新动态,正在重塑广州“千年商都”的空间格局。
自2025年7月以来,广州几乎每月都有1—2个商场开业的消息传来。数据显示,2021—2024年,广州首店数量年均增长25%,超600家国际品牌入驻。截至2025年10月,广州累计引进首店已近1800家。
在聚龙湾太古里率先亮相的一期,首批入驻的30家品牌中,广州首店高达7家。自调改以来,假日客流按年增长36%,整体销售额上升25%,实现了年度客流销售双突破。
聚龙湾太古里在开业前便明确,将打造宠物友好街区、先锋艺术策展空间,旨在成为一个自然、人文与商业灵感共生的滨水漫步式目的地。
山姆荔湾店在会员服务体验上进一步深化,比如其眼镜中心配备了针对青少年的生物测量仪等专业设备。
艺术与戏剧成为塑造体验的高阶形式。广州K11在2025年12月底策办“好奇心之夜·星穹剧场演出季”,将风靡全球的沉浸式戏剧《不眠之夜》九周年特别演出首次引入华南。
