The 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th National Special Olympic Games were held from December 8 to 15, 2025.

During the Games, Clea, an Indonesian international student from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, visited Guangzhou Gymnasium to experience firsthand the passion and power of wheelchair basketball.

Expecting a slower pace at first, she was instantly amazed once the game began —
the rapid transitions between offense and defense, the intense physicality, and the seamless coordination between wheelchairs and basketballs electrified the entire arena.

Beyond the thrilling competition, the stadium’s barrier-free design was equally impressive.

Accessible ramps, designated wheelchair seating areas, Braille signage, and audio guidance were all thoughtfully provided, allowing people of different abilities to enjoy the excitement of the game on equal terms.

This was not just a sporting event, but a powerful expression of courage, respect, and dreams.
