Recently, outside the Ophthalmology Center of the Colonial War Memorial Hospital in Suva, Fiji, Atonio Lalabalavu, Fiji's Minister for Health and Medical Services, spoke to the media from both China and Fiji. On camera, he expressed his heartfelt thanks for the medical assistance provided by the "Bright Journey" medical team from Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center (ZOC) of Sun Yat-sen University, and said that everything happening in Fiji is not only a blessing for Fiji's Ministry of Health and Medical Services, but also for its people. The Chinese doctors are doing tremendous work.

Recently, in the presence of Minister Lalabalavu, an almost completely blind cataract patient underwent cataract surgery performed by the ZOC team, then slowly walked out of the operating room unaided, regaining sight.

The surgery attracted attention from several local media outlets. Minister Lalabalavu told the media that the Ministry of Health and Medical Services sincerely appreciated China's medical aid, saying that the "Bright Journey" team from ZOC can perform a cataract surgery in about ten minutes, enabling patients to recover and return to normal life. This is the kind of surgical expertise they simply don't have locally.

Minister Lalabalavu noted that the "Bright Journey" team is engaged in a noble mission in Fiji. He said he hopes that, with future cooperation between the two governments, this kind of specialized medical capacity will take root and flourish in Fiji.

近日，在斐济卫生和医疗服务部长阿托尼奥·拉拉巴拉武的见证下，一位几乎全盲的白内障患者在接受中山眼科团队实施的手术后，慢慢独立走出手术室，重获光明。

这场手术得到了当地多家媒体的关注。斐济卫生部长阿托尼奥·拉拉巴拉武对媒体表示，当地卫生部衷心感谢中国政府的援外工作。“中山眼科中心医疗队能够在十分钟左右就完成一台白内障手术，让患者恢复健康、重返生活，这是我们本地缺乏的手术经验。”

阿托尼奥·拉拉巴拉武表示，“光明行”团队在当地开展的是一件伟大的事业，希望未来在两国政府合作下，这种专业的医疗能力也能在斐济落地生根。
