The 15th National Games are the first major sporting event jointly hosted by Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, and also the first time the National Games have been held in Hong Kong and Macao. Timothy Fok Tsun-ting, president of the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China, has been traveling frequently among the three places. Speaking about the significance of this first joint hosting, he noted that the Games offer young people from the three regions a chance to deepen exchanges and better understand one another, while also fostering connections between youth from across the country and those from Hong Kong and Macao, helping to advance the goal of "heart-to-heart connectivity" in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).

Fok, who has attended numerous competitions, said this year's National Games not only demonstrate the strong organizational capacity and high-quality venues of the three host regions, but also highlight the vibrant development of multiple sports on the mainland, including equestrian events. He emphasized that equestrian sports carry significant industrial and cultural potential, and that this year's Games have laid a solid foundation for deeper cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao and other regions on the Chinese mainland in the equestrian sector.

With a record-breaking HKSAR delegation of 1,362 athletes, the largest in its history, Hong Kong made tremendous efforts for this year's Games, contributing across all fronts from venue preparations to volunteer services. Fok noted that through this participation, young people nationwide gained a better understanding of Hong Kong, while Hong Kong youth had the chance to experience national development firsthand, inspiring greater enthusiasm to contribute to the country's progress.

Not long ago, he accompanied the International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Kirsty Coventry and IOC Honorary President for Life Thomas Bach during their visit to the GBA. Both expressed that they were "deeply impressed" by the scale and atmosphere of the National Games. During his visit to Hong Kong, Bach also noted the city's rapid development and affirmed that the GBA has the capability to host the Olympic Games.
