On October 30th, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport's Terminal 3 (T3) and fifth runway were officially put into operation, marking the beginning of a new era of operating five runways and three terminals at the airport. The expansion enables the airport to handle 120 million passengers and 3.8 million tonnes of cargo and mail annually in the near term. In the long run, its capacity will be increased to 140 million passengers and 6 million tons of cargo and mail, making it one of the largest airports in the world in terms of passenger and cargo throughput.

As a new landmark of Guangzhou, "City of Flowers", the design of the T3's architecture draws inspiration from a flower and incorporates elements of "Pearl River and Baiyun Mountain", resembling a blooming kapok flower. The terminal has achieved several"national firsts": China's first panoramic aviation observation platform and lookout; the first airport featuring a massive public art system, and the first terminal to include a botanical garden. It is also a "public space" open to the city.

The T3 transportation center is a comprehensive hub that integrates air, road and rail (intercity railway) transport. According to the plan, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport will be connected to six high-speed railways, five intercity railways, two metro lines and two expressways. The airport will be interconnected with major airports in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, forming a "one-hour living circle".

Meanwhile, Baiyun Airport now covers more than 230 domestic and international destinations, with its international routes continuously expanding. Its expansion not only adds significant capacity for passengers and cargo but will also further optimize the flight network by accelerating the establishment of a "12-hour global flight network" that connects the airport to key international destinations within 12 hours.

白云机场T3航站楼启用 世界级航空枢纽构建加速

10月30日，广州白云国际机场T3航站楼和第五跑道正式投运，标志着白云国际机场进入“五条跑道+三座航站楼”运行时代。白云机场近期可满足年旅客吞吐量1.2亿人次、货邮吞吐量380万吨的需求，远期容量更可承载1.4亿人次旅客和600万吨货邮，客货规模均居世界前列。

作为“花城”的新地标，白云机场T3航站楼以“花”为设计灵感，融入“云山珠水”元素，整体建筑宛如一朵盛放的木棉花。T3航站楼创造了多个“全国首个”——全国首创全景航空观景平台和瞭望塔、首个构建大型公共艺术系统的机场、首个植物园航站楼……T3航站楼更是一座向城市开放的“公共空间”。

T3综合交通中心是集航空、公路、铁路（城轨）为一体的多方式联运的交通综合体。根据规划，白云机场将引入6条高铁、5条城际、2条地铁、2条高速，白云机场可通过轨道交通与粤港澳大湾区主要机场互联互通，形成“1小时生活圈”。

与此同时，白云机场现已覆盖国内外航点230余个，国际航线不断扩展。它的扩容不仅释放了更大的客货吸纳能力，也将通过“全球12小时航空交通圈”的加速构建，进一步优化航线网络。
