On October 20th, the macroeconomic figures for the first three quarters of 2025 were released as scheduled: gross domestic product (GDP) reached 101.50 trillion yuan, up 5.2% year on year at constant prices. This pace was 0.2 and 0.4 percentage points faster than the full year of 2024 and the same period a year earlier, respectively, and the corresponding economic increment reached 3.97 trillion yuan, 136.8 billion yuan more than a year earlier.

A spokesperson for the National Bureau of Statistics noted that the slowdown in third-quarter growth mainly resulted from the combined effects of a complex and challenging external environment and pressures from domestic structural adjustments, but the broader trend of steady progress in the economy remains unchanged.

During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, China's average annual contribution to global economic growth has remained around 30%. Per capita GDP rose from 10,632 US dollars in 2020 to 13,445 US dollars in 2024, exceeding 13,000 dollars for two consecutive years and placing China firmly among upper-middle-income countries.

In terms of innovation capacity, China's innovation index entered the global top ten for the first time in 2025, ranking first among upper-middle-income economies. Breakthroughs have continued to emerge in frontier fields such as artificial intelligence and quantum communication. Science and technology innovation is translating more quickly into real productive forces. In 2024, the proportion of value added by "Three New" (new industries, new formats and new business models)economy in GDP for 2024 is 18.01%.

In terms of industrial momentum, new quality productive forces are converting into real productive forces at a faster pace. In the first three quarters, the value-added of high-tech manufacturing above designated size grew 9.6% year on year; output of industrial robots, service robots, and electric multiple units increased by 29.8%, 16.3%, and 8.6%, respectively.

前三季度GDP同比增长5.2%

10月20日，2025年前三季度宏观经济数据如期公布：前三季度国内生产总值1015036亿元，按不变价格计算，同比增长5.2%。这一增速，比上年全年和上年同期分别加快0.2、0.4个百分点，对应的经济增量达到39679亿元，同比多增1368亿元。

国家统计局新闻发言人指出，三季度增速的回落主要是外部环境复杂严峻、国内结构调整压力较大等因素共同作用的结果，但经济稳中有进的发展态势没有改变。

“十四五”时期我国经济对世界经济增长的年均贡献率保持在30%左右。人均GDP从2020年的10632美元提升至2024年的13445美元，连续两年超过1.3万美元，稳居中等偏上收入国家前列。

从创新能力看，2025年我国创新指数首次跻身全球前十，位列中等偏上收入经济体首位。人工智能、量子通信等前沿领域创新硕果累累，科技创新加快向现实生产力转化，2024年“三新”经济增加值占GDP比重达18.01%。

从产业动能来看，新质生产力加快向现实生产力转化。前三季度，规模以上高技术制造业增加值同比增长9.6%；工业机器人、服务机器人、动车组等产品产量分别增长29.8%、16.3%、8.6%。
