The 138th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) opens today. Starting October 12th, Guangzhou Metro introduced the contactless "tap-and-go" payment service for passengers using bank cards issued by four international card networks.

The supported card types include Mastercard, American Express, Visa and JCB cards issued abroad, as well as Mastercard and American Express cards issued domestically that support RMB transactions. All bank cards must have contactless payment capabilities.

With this upgrade, Guangzhou Metro now supports all five major card networks, including China UnionPay, Mastercard, Visa, JCB, and American Express, across all stations. Foreign passengers in Guangzhou can simply tap cards with these networks' logos to quickly pass through.

This seemingly small payment innovation reflects the warmth of Guangzhou as an international metropolis. For entry services, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and Pazhou-Hong Kong-Macao Passenger Ferry Terminal have set up "Exclusive Channels for Canton Fair" supported by a multilingual service team and intelligent robots, providing comprehensive guidance for customs clearance. In transportation, five intercity railways and 19 metro lines are efficiently interconnected, providing direct access from Foshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Zhaoqing, and Qingyuan to the core area of the Canton Fair complex on Pazhou Island. For daily consumption, a "Departure Tax Refund Service Zone" has been established within the exhibition halls for the first time. There are nearly 1,000 tax refund shops in Guangzhou, with approximately 250 supporting "instant tax refund" service.

境外银行卡“直刷”坐地铁，细节处体现广州的开放和温暖

第138届中国进出口商品交易会（广交会）今日开幕。记者获悉，自10月12日起，广州地铁新增支持四大国际卡组织的银行卡非接触式“拍卡过闸”功能。

此次新增的功能支持境外发行的万事达卡（Mastercard）、美国运通卡（American Express）、维萨卡（Visa）、JCB卡，以及境内发行并支持人民币交易的万事达卡、美国运通卡。以上所有卡片均需具备非接触支付功能。

至此，广州地铁实现所有车站覆盖中国银联、万事达、维萨、JCB、美国运通五大卡组织支付服务。这意味着境外旅客在广州搭乘地铁可实现“无感通行”。

这项看似小小的支付创新，折射出广州这座国际都市的温度。在入境服务方面，广州白云国际机场、琶洲港澳客运口岸开设“广交会专用通道”，配设多语种服务专员和智能机器人，提供全流程通关指引；在交通出行方面，实现全市5条城际、19条地铁高效协同，佛山、惠州、东莞、肇庆、清远可一线直达琶洲会展核心区；在生活消费方面，首次在展馆内设立“离境退税服务专区”，全市有近千家退税商店，其中近250家支持“即买即退”。
