On the morning of September 3rd, a grand gathering, including a military parade, was held at Tiananmen Square in Beijing to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. Ma Limei, president of Portugal's Chinese media Journal Puxin, who was watching as a representative of overseas Chinese in Portugal, told the reporters from Yangcheng Evening News that the overseas Chinese in Portugal always care aboutChina. "I know many of my Portuguese friends are following the proceedings remotely," she said.

"The heroic bearing of the People's Liberation Army soldiers left me with a deep impression, and I was dazzled by the array of new weaponry. I strongly felt China's determination and capability to safeguard world peace," Ma Limei shared her deepest feelings.

This event also received widespread attention in Portugal. Ma Limei explained that overseas Chinesein Portugal, as well as some Portuguese people, watched the broadcast or read reports in various ways. She hoped that the successful event would help people overseas learn better about history. "Some Portuguese friends told me they now recognize the immense contributions China made during the Anti-Fascist War. I believe the number of people like this will continue to grow!" she said.

Looking ahead, Ma Limei looks forward to the continued healthy development of relations between China and Portugal. She said, "We Chinese in Portugal are looking forward to seeing that the people of both countries will join hands and make progress together, further strengthening cooperation in all areas."

葡萄牙侨界代表现场看阅兵：相信会有更多人正确认识历史

9月3日上午，纪念中国人民抗日战争暨世界反法西斯战争胜利80周年大会在北京天安门广场隆重举行。作为观礼本次纪念大会的海外华侨华人代表，葡萄牙华文媒体《葡新报》社长马丽梅告诉羊城晚报记者，葡萄牙华人华侨始终心系祖国，"我知道很多葡萄牙当地的朋友都在远程关注这次大会。"

马丽梅最大的感触是："军人们的英姿给我留下了深刻的印象，各种新式武器也让我目不暇接。我强烈感受到了中国维护世界和平的决心和实力。"

本次大会在葡萄牙也受到了各界的关注，马丽梅介绍说，当地华人华侨以及部分葡萄牙人都在用各种方式收看本次大会的转播或者报道。她期待大会的成功举行能够让海外各界人士更好地了解历史。她说："有葡萄牙朋友跟我说，知道中国在反法西斯战争中作出的巨大贡献。我相信这样的朋友会越来越多！"

展望未来，马丽梅期待中葡两国关系继续健康发展。她说："我们葡萄牙华人很期待中葡两国人民能携手共进，继续加强各方面的合作。"
