In 2022, the US youth Evan Kail donated a photo album to China. The album features photos of Japanese atrocities in China during WWII. In 2024, he visited China for the first time, and in early 2025, he appeared on the 2025 Spring Festival Gala. Recently, he published a new book titled "Through The Storm". In a recent interview, he shared his personal journey and hopes for peace.

Speaking about his new book, Kail said he chose to publish it around the 80th anniversary of the victory in the World Anti-Fascist War to emphasize the importance of "preserving, cherishing, and understanding history." The title "Through The Storm" reflects the courage to do what is right. When he donated the album, he knew he would face intimidation, threats, and even discouragement from the US government, but he insisted on returning the album to its rightful "owners," believing firmly it was the correct decision.

He pointed out that while American schools extensively teach about the Holocaust, they often ignore the history of Japan's invasion of China, which stems from deep-rooted racial bias in the West. His videos helped many Americans learn about this history for the first time and were met with widespread recognition. Although he currently avoids traveling to Japan out of concern for diplomatic backlash, he remains committed to making more videos to awaken those who refuse to acknowledge historical wrongdoing.

Reflecting on the film "Dead to Rights", Kail said it presented the history of the Nanjing Massacre with powerful educational value. The combination of cinematic storytelling and authentic historical footage deeply moved him to tears. He praised the filmmakers for helping bring historical truth to the world's attention. While the past cannot be changed, he is willing to devote himself to the cause of peace for humanity, calling on people to prevent war and work together for a better future.
