On August 23rd, the 16-team main round of the 2025 Guangdong Football Super League kicked off with great excitement at the Greater Bay Area Cultural and Sports Center in Guangzhou. In the opening match of the main round, the Guangdong Wuchuan Youth Team defeated the Nansha Bay Area Youth Team with a 3-0 victory. On the same day, the Chinese flying man Su Bingtian and the Chinese football icon Fan Zhiyi attended the event to cheer for the 2025 Guangdong Football Super League. Veteran football stars of Guangdong gathered together with over 25,000 fans to witness this grand football event in southern China.

Located in Nansha, Guangzhou, the Greater Bay Area Cultural and Sports Center is a large-scale cultural and sports complex built to world-class standards to serve residents across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It features a 60,000-seat multifunctional stadium, a 20,000-seat indoor arena, and a 4,000-seat swimming and diving arena. The opening match of the main round of the 2025 Guangdong Football Super League marked the first official game held at the newly completed stadium.
