On August 15th, the 2025 Southern China Book Fair kicks off in Guangzhou, with a stronger push to both "bring in" and "go out," giving the event an even more international flavor.

Broad participation of multiple countries expands cultural exchanges. The newly unveiled International Cultural Hall holds the key to the fair's global expansion. Special pavilions, including the Vietnam Pavilion (Guest of Honor), Southeast Asia Pavilion, Central Asia Pavilion, Arab Pavilion, European Pavilion, International Publishing Pavilion, and International Art Pavilion, are all lined up. Publishing achievements from 23 countries and regions, along with about 20,000 original books from internationally renowned publishers, are gathered here, allowing readers to engage directly with world civilization.

The rich content deepens the dialogue of civilizations. A series of exciting activities showcases the fair's transformation from a "book fair" to a celebration of "coexistence of civilizations." The special exhibition marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War brings the wartime spirit across time and space to reach the hearts of people. The forum "Technology Reshaping the Ecosystem of Global Publishing" invites the leaders of the global publishing industry to discuss frontier topics such as the integration of AI and publishing. The exhibition zone featuring trendy toys not only caters to Gen Z's pursuit of trends but also revitalizes traditional culture through creativity. This year's book fair will present 2,335 cultural activities, both online and offline, with coordinated efforts across Guangdong.

A gathering of cultural luminaries ignites the passion of the event. Renowned authors and experts from around the world come together, driving the popularity of this year's book fair to new heights. In addition to renowned Chinese writers, a number of foreign authors have brought their classic works to the event. American writer Wendelin Van Draanen will host a sharing session for her book "Flipped"; British illustrator Neil Parker will join a dialogue on independent illustration; and Dutch science fiction author Roderick Leeuwenhart will kick off an exchange on science fiction with his novel "Sterrenlichaam".

南国书香节：“出圈”又“出海”

8月15日，2025南国书香节在广州启幕。本届书香节加大了“引进来”与“走出去”的力度，国际范儿愈发鲜明。

多国共赴，拓展文化交流广度。新亮相的国际文化展厅，藏着书香节走向世界的密码。越南国家馆（主宾国馆）、东南亚国家馆、中亚国家馆、阿拉伯国家馆、欧洲国家馆、国际品牌出版馆、国际艺术馆等鳞次栉比，23个国家和地区的出版成果、国际知名出版社的约2万种原版图书在此荟萃，可以让读者零距离触摸世界文明脉络。

内容丰硕，演绎文明交响厚度。精彩纷呈的系列活动，生动诠释着书香节从“书的交易”到“文明共生”的蝶变。纪念抗战胜利80周年特展，让抗战精神穿越时空直抵人心；“科技重塑世界出版新生态”论坛，邀请全球出版业领袖探讨AI与出版融合等前沿议题；潮玩特色展区，既应和Z世代对潮流的追逐，又让传统文化在创意中焕发新生。本届书香节将以线上线下融合、全省协同之势，呈现2335场文化活动。

群贤云集，点燃文化盛会热度。海内外名家大咖齐聚，让本届书香节热度攀升。除中国知名作家外，一众外国作家携经典作品而来，美国作家文德琳·范·德拉安南将举办《怦然心动》分享会，英国插画家尼尔·帕克将出席独立插画主题对话，荷兰科幻作家罗德里克·列文哈特将携小说《星体》开启科幻主题交流。
