In 2019, the city of Nanjingpresented a gift to the city of Aarhus, Denmark – a statue of Bernhard Arp Sindberg. Queen Margrethe II of Denmark personally unveiled the statue of Sindberg.

Standing three meters tall with arms outstretched towards the east, the statue incorporates bricks from the Nanjing city wall in its base, symbolizing Sindberg's selfless sheltering and protection of Chinese refugees.
