"The Shenzhen Low-Altitude Infrastructure High-Quality Construction Plan (2024-2026)" was recently released. According to the plan, by the end of 2026, Shenzhen will establish a global headquarters for R&D in the low-altitude economy, a center for high-end intelligent manufacturing, a full-scenario demonstration and verification hub, and a one-stop solution provider, aiming to become the world's leading city in the low-altitude economy.
Shenzhen boasts a well-developed industrial chain for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), with a complete and mature supply chain. The city is home to leading companies such as DJI, Fengyi Drones, and Autel Robotics. Shenzhen accounts for 70% of the global market share in consumer drones and 50% in industrial drones.
According to Shenzhen's recently released economic semi-annual report, the city saw rapid growth in high-tech product output in the first half of the year. The production of civil drones, industrial robots, and 3D printing equipment increased by 59.0%, 38.0%, and 35.8%, respectively. These figures reflect Shenzhen's proactive efforts in developing its "20+8" strategic emerging industry clusters and future industrialsystems, with manufacturing, especially high-tech manufacturing, playing a key role in driving high-quality economic development.
In terms of supporting industries, Shenzhen has a thriving intelligent equipment industry, with over 10,000 enterprises covering the entire upstream and downstream supply chain. This includes core upstream components for the manufacturing of drones and other high-end equipment, as well as intelligent manufacturing equipment. Additionally, the city is home to numerous universities, research institutions, and innovative enterprises. With a complete innovation and entrepreneurship service system, the city provides strong momentum for the continued development of the low-altitude economy.
