According to preliminary calculations released by the Ministry of Natural Resources, China's gross ocean product (GOP) grew 5.8 percent year-on-year to 5.1 trillion yuan in the first half of 2025.

The supply capacity of marine resources has continued to strengthen. The newly approvedarea of sea and island use across the country totaled 167,000 hectares, up 25.2 percent year-on-year, with projects involving investments exceeding 500 billion yuan. Offshore crude oil and natural gas output grew by 2.3 percent and 16.9 percent, respectively. The newly installed capacity of grid-connected offshore wind power surged by 199.4 percent, while electricity generation increased by 2.2 percent. Solid progress has been made in building a "blue granary," with China'sdomestic aquatic product output rising 4.8 percent.

Traditional marine industries continued to play a stabilizing role. China's shipbuilding industry maintained its leading share in the international market. Based on compensated gross tonnage,new orders for marine vessels, completed oceanships and orders on handaccounted for 64.0 percent, 47.2 percent, and 57.6 percent of the global total, respectively. The marine tourism sector saw its added value climb 8.0 percent, while passenger throughput at cruise ports nationwide jumped 40.1 percent. Marine transportation also showed resilience, with cargo volume and turnover volume of freight transportup 5.2 percent and 6.9 percent year-on-year.

Emerging marine industries also recorded robust growth. The value of delivered and existing offshore engineering equipment orders increased by 39.3 percent and 9.7 percent, respectively. In Qingdao, a "SeaStar" large-scale AI model was released to support marine drug research and development. Meanwhile, the megawatt-class Fenjin marine current turbine has been operating continuously on the grid for over three years.

记者从自然资源部获悉，初步核算，上半年中国海洋生产总值5.1万亿元，同比增长5.8%。

海洋资源要素供给能力稳步增强。全国新增批准用海用岛面积16.7万公顷，同比增长25.2%，项目涉及投资额超5000亿元。海洋原油、天然气产量同比分别增长2.3%、16.9%，海上风电新增并网容量、发电量同比分别增长199.4%、2.2%。“蓝色粮仓”建设扎实推进，国内海洋水产品产量同比增长4.8%。

主要海洋传统产业继续发挥“压舱石”作用。海洋船舶工业国际市场份额保持领先，以修正总吨计海船新承接订单量、完工量和手持订单量占全球比重分别为64.0%、47.2%和57.6%。海洋旅游业增加值同比增长8.0%，全国邮轮港口接待旅客总数同比增长40.1%。海洋交通运输业韧性凸显，海洋货运量、货物周转量同比分别增长5.2%、6.9%。

海洋新兴产业发展态势良好。海洋工程装备交付和手持订单金额同比分别增长39.3%和9.7%。青岛发布可用于海洋药物研发的“海星大模型”；兆瓦级发电机组“奋进号”已连续并网运行超3年。
