With 100 days to go before the opening ceremony of the 15th National Games (referred to as "the Games"), the spotlight is on both its sporting excellence and its commitment to green innovation.

The Games received the first major carbon reduction donation from Guangzhou. In 2024, Guangzhou's Forestry and Landscaping Bureau organized five state-owned forest farms to generate 82,600 tons of carbon‑inclusive emission reductions in forestry, which were fully donated to the executive committee of the Games in Guangzhou to help achieve carbon neutrality.

All competition venues highlight the principle of "frugal hosting." In Guangzhou, all 30 venues were upgraded from existing facilities, enhancing both interior and exterior quality. Shenzhen adopted the same approach, with 14 of its 20 competition venues being refurbished rather than newly built.

The renovations strictly followed green building standards. The Tianhe Sports Center in Guangzhou became the China's first near-zerocarbon renovation project for a large stadium. All venues and reception hotels in Guangzhou are powered by 100% green electricity.

Guangzhou Power Supply Bureau rolled out a full range of green measures: establishing three near-zerocarbon demonstration zones, building nine energy‑saving and emission‑reduction substations, and deploying more than 50 pieces of green equipment, such as hydrogen emergency power supply vehicles and drones.

生态赋能“加减法”广东为美丽全运减碳增绿

备受关注的第十五届全国运动会(以下简称“十五运会”)即将迎来开幕式倒计时一百天。这既是一场历史性体育盛会，也是一次对城市绿色创新实践的考验。

十五运会收到的首单大额碳减排量捐赠来自广州。2024年，市林业园林局组织5家国有林场，完成了8.26万吨林业碳普惠减排量开发，并全部向广州赛区执委会捐赠，用于“十五运”广州赛区碳中和。

各大比赛场馆突出“节约办赛”原则。在广州赛区，30个场馆全部利用现有老场馆改造，一体推进场馆内外品质提升。深圳赛区同样优先采用现有体育场馆改造升级，20个竞赛场馆中的14个为改造场馆。

具体而言，十五运会场馆改造全面执行绿色建筑标准。广州天河体育中心体育场成为全国首个近零碳大型体育场改造项目，广州所有场馆及接待酒店均实现100％绿色电力供应。

广州供电局打出绿色组合拳：建成3个近零碳示范区、9座节能减排变电站；氢能应急发电车、无人机等50余台绿色装备齐上阵。
