Guangdong has maintained its position as the national leader in the production of marine fish fry and shrimp fry for seven consecutive years.

In 2024, the province's output of marine fish fry reached 6.796 billion, accounting for nearly half of the national total. Up to now, Guangdong has successfully cultivated 18 nationally approved new marine species. 

Guangdong also leads the nation in typhoon-resistant aquaculture net cage technology, with a total of 6,396 gravity deep-water cages built, ranking first in China.
