This exhibition primarily focuses on Asian lotus varieties, featuring blossoms in yellow, green, white, pink, red, and multicolor. Flower forms range from single and semi-double to double petals, and even rare types, such as double-tiered and thousand-petaled varieties. Included are eight award‑winning cultivars from national lotus exhibitions, along with four new hybrids developed by local Guangzhou breeders. The highlights are the rare space‑bred variety "Space Red Flag" and the distinctive "Golden Splash Hibiscus"lotus.

太空育种荷花首次亮相云溪植物园

走进广州云溪植物园，正门口处、莲香池畔、松泉园旁，处处可见各色荷花的倩影。一场汇聚了127个品种荷花的视觉盛宴在这里悄然上演。雪白如玉的重瓣品种，花瓣繁复如精雕玉琢，尽显“水中牡丹”的华贵气度；嫩黄娇柔的新品，透着温柔治愈与勃勃生机，挥洒着夏日的一抹清凉。粉的娇媚、红的炽烈、复色奇幻……各色荷花在翠绿荷叶的掩映下，为炎炎夏日带来一片宁静与雅致。

据介绍，本次展览的展品以亚洲莲为主，花色汇聚黄、绿、白、粉、红及复色，花型则囊括单瓣、半重瓣、重瓣乃至稀有的重台、千瓣形态。展品不仅有8种全国荷花展览的获奖品种，还首次展出了由广州本土育种人培育的4个荷花新品。最引人注目的当属珍贵的太空育种品种“太空红旗”，以及独特的荷花花叶品种“洒金芙蓉”。
