Post-90s founder in GBA builds ¥68 billion unicorn company

As the Science and Technology Innovation Board Market (the STAR Market) welcomes its "first stock of intelligent imaging", the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) has added another listed company, featuring the STAR Market's first founder born in the 1990s. On June 11th, Shenzhen-based company Insta360 successfully debuted on the STAR Market. On its first day of trading, the company's stock price soared by 2.74 times, closing at 177 yuan per share, bringing its total market capitalization to over 70 billion yuan.

Recently, two Chinese products have gained widespread international attention: labubu from Pop Mart and the Insta360 X5 from Insta360. In 2023, Insta360 ranked first globally in the panoramic camera market, holding a 67.2% market share. The company also achieved a strong second place in the action camera market worldwide.

The driving force behind Insta360's rapid growth is its investment in research and development (R&D). Over the past three years, the company has invested a total of 1.48 billion yuan in R&D, accounting for 13.16% of its total revenue. As of the end of 2024, the proportion of R&D personnel reached 57.68%, with 900 patents granted at home and abroad, including 189 invention patents.

According to its prospectus, Insta360 plans to raise 1.938 billion yuan through this IPO, with the funds primarily allocated to the construction of the "intelligent imaging equipment production base" and the "Shenzhen R&D center".

Overseas markets have become a significant revenue source for Insta360. The prospectus reveals that from 2022 to 2024, its overseas sales revenue amounted to 1.596 billion yuan, 2.903 billion yuan, and 4.223 billion yuan, respectively, accounting for 79.43%, 80.83%, and 76.35% of its main business revenue. The company uses a combination of online and offline channels to distribute its products worldwide, mainly targeting developed countries and regions with high consumer purchasing power, including the United States, Japan, and Europe.

“90后”湾区创客打造680亿元独角兽

随着科创板迎来“智能影像第一股”,“湾区造”再增一家上市公司,科创板迎来了首位“90后”创始人。6月11日,总部位于深圳的影石创新科技股份有限公司成功登陆科创板,上市首日股价暴涨2.74倍,收盘价达177元/股,公司总市值突破700亿元。

最近在国际上,被疯抢的中国货有两个,一个是泡泡玛特的Labubu,另一个是影石创新的Insta360 X5。数据显示,2023年,在全景相机领域,影石创新(Insta360)排名全球第一,在全球市场中占有率达67.2%;在运动相机领域,公司也取得了全球第二的好成绩。

研发技术是影石创新快速成长的驱动力。公司近三年累计研发投入14.8亿元,占累计营业收入比例为13.16%。截至2024年底,研发技术人员占比达57.68%,拥有境内外授权专利900项,其中发明专利189项。

根据招股书披露,影石创新本次拟募集资金19.38亿元,主要投向“智能影像设备生产基地建设项目”与“深圳研发中心建设项目”。

海外市场已成为影石创新营收的重要来源。招股书显示,2022年至2024年,其境外销售收入分别为 15.96亿元、29.03亿元和 42.23亿元,占主营业务收入比例分别为 79.43%、80.83%和 76.35%。公司通过线上、线下渠道相结合的方式销往全球各地,主要系美国、日本和欧洲等消费能力较强的发达国家和地区。
