On June 1st, the 2025 Guangzhou International Dragon Boat Invitational Tournament was held along the Pearl River in Guangzhou. Representative teams from seven sister cities will participatein the event. There are also 12 teams from the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions, eight teams from consulates and business associations based in Guangzhou and seven international teams from Russia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, the United States, and Canada. These elite teams competed against top dragon boat teams from various districts of Guangzhou and local universities. The thrilling contest, marked by intense rivalry and festive cheer, added vibrancy to the Dragon Boat Festival and infused the 40th anniversary of the event with Cantonese charm, Greater Bay Area spirit, and a distinct international flair.

One highlight of this year's race was its stronger emphasis on traditional culture. A series of promotional activities were organized around the event to integrate dragon boat culture with the rich history of Guangzhou as a millennium commercial hub, offering citizens and tourists a deeply immersive cultural experience. Meanwhile, the event economy saw a notable boost. Held on International Children's Day, the competition drew many families to the riverside, boosting the event's popularity. According to statistics, more than 100,000 on-site spectators came to witness the races.

As 2025 is a National Games year, elements of the National Games were visible through out the race venue. Slogans such as "Passionate National Games, Vibrant Greater Bay Area" and "Dream Big in the Greater Bay Area, Create A Life of Brilliance", along with the official mascots Xiyangyang and Lerongrong, could be seen all along the banks of the Pearl River.

百龙竞渡珠江，超十万人次现场观赛

6月1日，2025年广州国际龙舟邀请赛在广州珠江河段举行。本届赛事共有7支来自兄弟城市队伍，12支来自香港、澳门特别行政区队伍，8支驻穗领馆及商协会队伍和7支来自俄罗斯、哈萨克斯坦、马来西亚、美国、加拿大等国家的队伍报名参加，精英荟萃、高手云集的“过江龙”和来自广州各区、有关高校的龙舟劲旅同场竞技，为端午假期增添了百舸争流的热闹气氛，也让创办40周年的广州国际龙舟邀请赛更显广府味、湾区情、国际范。

首先是传统文化更加突出。结合赛事举办开展系列推广活动，将传统龙舟文化和千年商都有机结合，为广大市民游客带来粤韵悠长的丰富体验；赛事经济更加火热。比赛当天恰逢六一儿童节，不少市民全家总动员现场观赛助推赛事热度，据统计，现场观赛超10万人次。

今年恰逢全运年，2025年广州国际龙舟邀请赛现场随处可见全运元素，“激情全运会，活力大湾区”“追梦大湾区，出彩人生路”等标语和吉祥物“喜洋洋”“乐融融”的身影遍布珠江两岸。
