On May 27th, the 2025 Gulongxia Cup International Rafting Open Tournament (Qingyuan, China) officially kicked off at the Gulongxia Scenic Area in Qingyuan, Guangdong. The eventis co-hosted by the China Water Sports Administration and Qingyuan Municipal Government, attracting 80 teams from five countries.
The competition venue, Gulongxia International Drifting Arena, was the only site in Guangdong selected as a National Sports Tourism Demonstration Base in 2023. The track boasts a total vertical drop of 378 meters and a maximum speed of 72 km/h. With a maximum gradient of 9.5%, it surpasses the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon's average slope of 7.5%. It is currently the longest, steepest, and fastest rafting course in Guangdong and holds two world records, including the world's longest and steepest competition riveramong natural water areas.
As the referee's starting gun echoed through the mountains, competitors raced through the "Flying Dragon in the Sky" section with a single drop of 17 meters. Vibrantly colored rafts burst forth from a giant dinosaur skull sculpture, snaking through the lush mountains and clear waters like dragons in flight. Simultaneously, the 2025 Rafting Culture and Tourism Season in Qingyuan was launched and will run until August.

国际漂流公开赛在广东清远巅峰对决
5月27日,由国家体育总局水上运动管理中心和清远市人民政府主办的2025年古龙峡杯国际漂流公开赛(中国·清远站)在古龙峡景区精彩开赛,吸引五个国家共80支队伍参赛。
本次比赛场地古龙峡国际漂流赛场,是2023年广东唯一入选的国家体育旅游示范基地,赛道全程落差达378米,最快时速72公里,其最大坡降为9.5%,超越了雅鲁藏布大峡谷7.5%的平均坡降,是广东省内赛道最长、落差最大、时速最快的漂流项目,拥有世界最长、落差最大的自然水域竞赛河道两项世界纪录。
当天,随着裁判员发令枪响,选手们相继越过单体落差17米的“飞龙在天”河段,五颜六色的橡皮艇从巨型的恐龙头骨雕塑中鱼贯而出,宛如长龙穿梭于绿水青山之间。据了解,同期启动的“激情漂流 自在清远”2025广东·清远漂流文化旅游季,将持续到8月。
