According to preliminary estimates from the Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the province welcomed 46.08 million tourist visits during the five-day May Day holiday in 2025, marking an 18.7% year-on-year increase. Tourism revenue reached 29.5 billion yuan, up 20.3% compared to the same period last year.
A sample survey of tourists conducted over the holiday revealed that per capita spending reached 640.1 yuan, up 1.3% year-on-year. Among these, day-trippers spent an average of 392.3 yuan per person, while overnight tourists spent 1,243.8 yuan on average. Overnight tourists accounted for 29.1% of the total.
Data from Meituan Travel showed that Guangdong led the nation in consumption related to food, entertainment, and leisure services during the May Day holiday, with overall tourism-related consumption increasing by 94% year-on-year. The province recorded a 54% rise in service-related spending.
Daily per capita spending by inbound tourists to Guangdong rose 111% compared to last year's holiday. Online orders for dine-in services placed by out-of-town tourists increased by more than 75%. According to the "2025 May Day Holiday Travel Report" released by Alibaba's travel platform Fliggy, customized tour bookings in Guangdong increased by 50% year-on-year, car rentals by around 40%, and bookings for package tours and attraction tickets rose by about 30%. Hotel bookings saw a growth of over 20%.
Driven by continuously optimized visa-free policies and improved transportation infrastructure, such as the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) and the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link (XRL), "China Travel" remained a hot trend during the May Day break. Notably, Qingyuan's Gulong Gorge scenic area recorded a substantial rise in tourist numbers from Hong Kong, Macao, and overseas markets, with such visitors accounting for 13.8% of the total, an increase of 250% compared to the same period in 2024.

4608.2万人次!“五一”假期广东接待游客同比增长18.7%
记者从广东省文化和旅游厅获悉,据初步测算,2025年“五一”假期五天,全省接待游客4608.2万人次,同比增长18.7%;实现旅游收入295.0亿元,同比增长20.3%。
2025年“五一”假期全省游客抽样调查结果显示:“五一”假期期间,全省游客人均花费640.1元,同比增长1.3%。其中,一日游人均花费392.3元,过夜游人均花费1243.8元,过夜游比例为29.1%。
美团旅行数据显示,“五一”假期期间,广东省吃喝玩乐服务消费规模领跑全国,增速达到54%,其中文旅消费较去年同期增长94%。
假期赴广东游客的日均消费较上年假期同比增长111%,由异地游客贡献的餐饮堂食线上订单量同比增长超75%。根据飞猪发布的《2025年“五一”假期出游快报》,今年“五一”假期,广东的定制游订单量同比增长50%,广东的租车订单量均同比增长约40%,线路游、门票订单量同比增长约30%,酒店订单量增长超20%。
随着一系列免签政策的持续优化及港珠澳大桥、广深港高铁等交通等便捷交通的落成,“五一”假期,“China Travel”(中国游)持续火爆。记者了解到,清远市古龙峡港澳及海外游客接待量显著提升,占比达13.8%,较2024年同期增长250%。
