China's marine technology has achieved a historic breakthrough! On March 26th, it is announced that "Zhanjiang Bay No. 1", the world's first floating dynamic positioning aquaculture platform developed by Zhanjiang Bay Laboratory, will be launched on March 28th.
As a global first, "Zhanjiang Bay No. 1" is first vessel to combine ship structure with aquaculture net systems. It allows operation beyond 1,000-meter depths across all offshore zones. It features a dynamic positioning and navigation system, achieving autonomous navigation to avoidtyphoons. Powered by green energy, it ensures low-carbon and high-efficiency operations. With an aquaculture capacity of over 80,000 cubic meters, it supports full-process intelligent monitoring and feeding. Its cascade aquaculture from nearshore to deep-sea areas is an innovation in the industrial model.
Following the successful launch of "Zhanjiang Bay No. 1," its sister vessel, "Bay Area Lingding", designed by Zhanjiang Bay Laboratory, is also set to be launched soon. This act not only marks a milestone for deep-sea aquaculture in Guangdong, but also introduces new ideologies and development models to China's aquaculture industry, which is of groundbreaking significance.

“湛江湾1号”首创船网融合设计,为全球首例;深远海全域适养,突破千米水深限制;动力定位+自主航行的游弋养殖自航避台;绿色能源驱动,实现低碳高效运营;超大规模养殖,突破8万方水体集约化;全流程智慧化监测投喂;由近及远梯度化养殖模式,实现产业模式创新。
据悉,随着“湛江湾1号”成功下水,由湛江湾实验室研发设计的“湾区伶仃”号姊妹船也将于近期下水,此举不仅是广东省深远海养殖领域的里程碑,也为我国深远海养殖产业注入了全新的理念与发展模式,具有划时代的意义。
