They have made significant strides in e-commerce platforms and cross-border e-commerce, while the regional value of characteristic towns has been steadily rising.
At the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport Cross-border E-commerce Supervision Center, 500,000 parcels pass through CT machines for intelligent inspection every day, with 30% of the goods bearing the label "Designed in Guangdong". Guangdong's cross-border e-commerce import and export has ranked first in China for eight consecutive years. Digital brands like Shein, Anker Innovations, and PatPat leverage AI to swiftly adjust production, not only shortening the time to launch new products but also reducing inventory costs.
Shein, for instance, with its self-developed SCM system, completes the entire process from fabric procurement to product delivery based on a mature supply chain of the clothing industry in Panyu District, achieving a rapid 7-day product launch cycle. Anker Innovations has established an innovation lab and an agile factory in Dongguan, compressing product development cycles to 45 days. Therefore, Anker products have become bestsellers in the "Cell Phones & Accessories" section on Amazon.
The Nansha Free Trade Zone in Guangzhou pioneered the "Cross-border E-commerce Export Pre-positioning Warehouse" regulatory model, reducing overseas warehouse stocking costs by 40% for enterprises. The Authority of Qianhai in Shenzhen introduced a whitelist for the brands going global, providing subsidies for overseas trademark registration.
Xiaolan Town in Zhongshan has perfected the production of hardware locks, giving rise to brands like Topstrong and Guli, with 4 out of every 10 smart locks in China produced here. The town established a "common factory" and integrated 200 small and micro enterprises by branding them with "Intelligent Products in Xiaolan", which boosts the regional brand value to over 20 billion yuan.
Lecong Furniture Kingdom in Foshan utilizes AI spatial design software, tripling the sales per square meter of terminal stores and expanding its national chain to thousands of stores. These digital transformations have allowed regional brands to transcend geographical boundaries. Although their headquarters are in towns, they can still develop nationwide.
