At Universal Beijing Resort, the "Universal's Chinese New Year" celebration has begun. This year, one of Kung Fu Panda's legendary Furious Five—Master Viper replaces Po as the theme icon for the Year of the Snake in 2025.
Travel agency surveys show Guangdong tourists prioritize "New Year's Eve dinner" and "family reunions during travel." About 80% of travelers during the 2025 winter vacation and Chinese New Year are families with children, making family-friendly travel experiences a major focus. According to predictions, Beijing ranks among the top three most popular domestic travel destinations for Guangdong tourists this winter vacation and Chinese New Year, and it is also the most popular destination for family trips.
Mr. Jiang, a "post-90s" father from Foshan, plans to take his eight-year-old daughter to Universal Beijing Resort to see the Minions. He and his wife, a "Harry Potter"fan, are excited about the "Universal's Chinese New Year" celebration, hoping for a meaningful and fun family trip.
Since 2022, Universal Beijing Resort has hosted four "Universal's Chinese New Year" events. The special performance "Universal's Nian Show" has received overwhelming praise for its Chinese New Year story of driving away the mythical "Nian" who can steal people's youth on Chinese New Year's Eveand celebrating a prosperous New Year, featuring 14 international iconic characters and dozens of actors, along with stage designs that highlight Chinese aesthetic charm.
This year, the special New Year performance "Universal's Nian Show" has added a new element of "dialect rap," showcasing creative flair. On the vast land of China, each dialect carries a unique cultural heritage. While performing the original songs created by Universal Beijing Resort, the actors incorporated authentic Sichuan and Hubei dialect rap alongside Mandarin. During the "live reporter broadcast" segment, they also included Northeastern, Shandong, and Shaanxi dialects, resonating with tourists from all over China and allowing them to savor the rich flavors of the New Year through dialects.
ECWALK notes that family travelers, who are the main group during winter and summer vacations, value experiential and educational trips. Travel products with parent-child interactions are popular, offering fun and cultural experiences in themed parks and also allowing families to enjoy traditional festivals together.

旅行社调查显示,“吃年夜饭”和“旅途团圆”成为广东游客关注度最高的两大旅行体验。而在2025年寒假春节出游人群中,约80%为亲子家庭,合家欢的旅途乐趣成为人们普遍关注的焦点。根据相关出游预测,今年寒假春节最受广东游客欢迎的国内旅游目的地中,北京跻身前三,北京同时也成为寒假最受欢迎的亲子游目的地。
在佛山工作的“90后”爸爸江先生准备在寒假带八岁的女儿去北京环球度假区,帮女儿“圆梦小黄人”。他表示,自己和太太对于“环球中国年”的兴趣更大,太太同时还是一位铁杆“哈利·波特”迷,“希望这次旅行不仅能让我们全家人的春节更加有意义,也能在喜欢的主题景区尽情嗨玩”。
2022年以来,北京环球度假区连续推出四届“环球中国年”主题活动。其中,环球中国年新春特别演出——“年来啦!”凭借“降伏年兽,红火过大年”的中国年故事、14位国际明星角色与数十名演员的联袂出演、凸显中式美学韵味的舞台设计,引发如潮好评。
不仅如此,新春特别演出“年来啦!”今年还新增了“方言说唱”,创意十足。在中国这片广袤土地上,每一种方言都承载着一份独特的文化底蕴。在演唱原创歌曲《红红火火朱利安国王》时,演员在原普通话的基础上,穿插地道四川、湖北方言说唱;在“记者现场播报”环节,穿插东北、山东、陕西方言,引发台下五湖四海游客的共鸣,在方言里品味浓浓年味。
广之旅相关负责人告诉记者,亲子客群作为寒暑假主要的出游人群,对于旅途的体验感和教育意义相当重视,带有亲子互动和实践性的旅游产品往往更受欢迎——带娃去“大片世界”里撒欢兼顾传统文化传承,在玩乐中一同感受传统节日的魅力,是理想的家庭游体验。
