On January 3rd, the State Council Information Office held a series of press conferences on the "High-Quality Development Achievements of China's Economy". Zhao Chenxin, Deputy Director of the National Development and Reform Commission, introduced that in 2024, China's economic strength, technological capabilities, and overall national power have further increased, and China has taken new and solid steps toward modernization with its own characterstics.

Zhao stated that China's innovation-driven vitality continues to be unleashed, and the transition from old to new growth drivers is accelerating. In 2024, China's global innovation index became the 11th highest, with major technological achievements such as the China Lunar Exploration Programand Heavy-Duty Gas Turbines one after another. The value added in high-tech manufacturing has consistently grown faster than the overall manufacturing sector, emerging industries are developing rapidly, and the pace of building a modern industrial system has been speeding up.

Regional development strategies have continued to deepen, with the leadingroles of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the Yangtze River Delta, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area further strengthened. The ecological and environmental quality of the Yangtze and Yellow River basins has steadily improved. The rural revitalization plan has been fully implemented, providing employment for over 3 million people through work-for-relief programs. The urbanization of agricultural migrant workers is progressing steadily, urban renewal initiatives are being carried out in an orderly manner, and urban resilience has significantly increased.  

New breakthroughs have been made in the green and low-carbon transition. The strategy of comprehensive energy conservation has been further advanced, with steady efforts towards peak carbon emissions and carbon neutrality. In the first three quarters of 2024, the average PM2.5 concentration in cities at or above the prefecture level dropped by 3.6% year-on-year. Key ecological protection and restoration projects have been accelerated, and the protection ofblue skies, clear waters, and greenland have achieved positive results.

China has adhered to the strategy of promoting development through openness. Restrictive measureson foreign investment in the manufacturing sector have been eliminated, and foreign trade imports and exports have maintained a strong growth rate. Notably, in the first 11 months of the year, automobile exports reached 5.84 million units, ranking the first in the world and setting a new historical high. High-quality cooperation in building the Belt and Road Initiative has made new progress, with cooperation plans being signed with countries such as Brazil, Peru, and Singapore. Additionally, the China Railway Express has surpassed 100,000 cumulative trips.  

In 2024, China's employment and income-boosting measures have been further implemented, and public services have continued to improve. The number of childcare service institutions has approached 100,000, while the number of elderly care facilities has reached 410,000. Grain production has surpassed 700 billion kilograms for the first time, and energy security capacity has been significantly enhanced. Efforts to address risks in key sectors have progressed steadily.

2024年前11个月中国汽车出口584万辆，居世界首位

1月3日，国务院新闻办公室召开“中国经济高质量发展成效”系列新闻发布会，国家发展改革委副主任赵辰昕介绍，2024年，中国经济实力、科技实力和综合国力进一步增强，中国式现代化迈出了新的坚实步伐。

赵辰昕表示，中国创新活力持续激发，新旧动能转换加快。2024年，中国全球创新指数排名升至第11位，重大科技成果如探月工程、重型燃气轮机等接连涌现。高技术制造业增加值增速持续高于整体制造业，新兴产业快速发展，现代化产业体系建设步伐加快。

区域发展战略持续深化，京津冀、长三角、粤港澳大湾区的引领作用进一步增强，长江和黄河流域生态环境质量稳步提升。乡村振兴规划全面实施，300多万人通过以工代赈实现就业。农业转移人口市民化稳步推进，城市更新行动有序实施，城市韧性显著提升。

绿色低碳转型取得新突破。全面节约战略深入推进，碳达峰碳中和工作稳步实施。2024年前三季度，地级及以上城市PM2.5平均浓度同比下降3.6%。重要生态系统保护和修复工程加快推进，蓝天、碧水、净土保卫战取得积极成效。

中国坚持以开放促发展，制造业领域外资准入限制措施实现“清零”，外贸进出口保持较快增长，特别是前11个月汽车出口584万辆、居世界首位且再创历史新高。高质量共建“一带一路”取得新进展，与巴西、秘鲁、新加坡等国签署共建“一带一路”合作规划，中欧班列累计开行突破10万列。

2024年，我国就业和增收措施进一步落实，公共服务持续优化。托育服务机构近10万家，养老服务设施达41万个。粮食产量首次突破1.4万亿斤，能源保障能力显著提升，重点领域风险化解稳步推进。
