【大美广东】The Fire Dragon Dance, with a history of over 140 years, celebrates the Mid-Autumn Festival in Tai Hang, Hong Kong
传承140年的火龙在香港大坑起舞迎中秋
Art and Culture | Tai Hang is located in the south of Causeway Bay on Hong Kong Island, leaning against the side of the Hong Kong Central Library. It was originally a Hakka village on the north shore of Hong Kong Island. Lee Wai Tong, the King of Football, whose ancestral home is in Wuhua, #Meizhou, once settled here. From 16 to 18 September, in celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival, the Fire Dragon Dance was held for three consecutive nights in Tai Hang, Causeway Bay, attracting locals and tourists to come and enjoy. The Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance has a history of more than 140 years and is a #folk custom of the Hakka people of Tai Hang, which is held regularly every year during the Mid-Autumn Festival todispel plagues and pray for #blessings. It was inscribed on the list of State-level intangible #cultural heritage items in 2011 and has become an internationally renowned festival.#artandculture
大坑位于香港岛铜锣湾以南,倚香港中央图书馆之侧,原是香港岛北岸的一条客家村落。祖籍梅州五华的“亚洲球王”李惠堂曾定居大坑。9月16日至18日,为庆祝中秋佳节,舞火龙盛会连续三晚在铜锣湾大坑举行,吸引大批市民和游客到场观赏。大坑舞火龙传承迄今已有140多年的历史,是大坑客家人为驱瘟祈福于每年中秋定期举行的民间习俗,2011年被列入国家级非物质文化遗产名录,如今已成为蜚声国际的节日庆典。
