The 135th Canton Fair Phase III is in full swing, showcasing five major sectors across 21 exhibition areas, including toys, pregnancy and baby items, fashion, household textiles, stationery, and health and leisure. Among them, the household textiles sector occupies 66,000 square meters of exhibition space, with 3,164 booths and 1,623 participating companies.
The textile and apparel sector features seven zones, including men's and women's wear, sportswear and leisurewear, children's wear, underwear, clothing accessories, household textiles, and textile raw materials, totaling 9,273 booths. The number of booths for intermediate products such as textile raw materials is 1159, up by 5% compared to the previous session.
Clothing companies based in Guangdong province account for the majority at the fair.
Inside the exhibition hall, Cai Chunhua, the operations director of Guangdong Textiles Import & Export Corporation Limited, dressed in Mamianqun (or horse-faced skirt), is attracting buyers by showcasing their products. This year, the company has brought eye-catching Mamianqun, attracting buyers from Southeast Asia, the Middle East, South America, Africa, and other regions.
Cai Chunhua stated that many overseas Chinese are eager to purchase these fashion items with traditional Chinese elements. They will retain the original features while making improvements based on specific market conditions overseas. "This year's overseas orders are already scheduled until August!"
At this Canton Fair, textile companies from Dongguan have meticulously planned their booths. Inside the exhibition area, these companies have brought a series of new textile materials such as graphene, photochromic, thermochromic yarns, and eco-friendly cashmere.
"These green and environmentally friendly fabric products are very popular in our country," said Hussein, a buyer from the Middle East, expressing his admiration for the innovative fabrics from Guangdong companies.
Outside the Canton Fair venue, delegations from various countries are racing against time to visit various professional markets in Guangzhou.
The Liuhua Mall is a hub for clothing wholesale markets in Guangzhou. Recently, a delegation of about 30 people from ASEAN countries visited it.
During the visit, many buyers transformed into "shopping experts" and purchased clothes of various styles. "These designs are very innovative, and we can't resist buying them for ourselves!"
During the Canton Fair's break, a trade delegation of 22 representatives from Mexico explored the Liuhua Fashion Wholesale Market. Taking a flight of 18 hours to China, no one wants to miss such a rare opportunity.
"In South America, affordable clothing is available, but the clothing here is competitive in prices, of higher quality and better designs, and with a more unique style," said Tania, a Mexican buyer, after the visit.
