土楼具有极高的防御功能

When one thinks of Tulou (earthen buildings), labels like Hakka and Fujian often come to mind. However, little-known to many is the presence of a large number of Tulou settlements with circular and enclosed architectural styles deep in the Chaoshan region. These Tulou structures have nestled among the picturesque mountains and waters for centuries, boasting a rich history and their largeness. Tiepu Town in Chaoshan is home to 32 Tulou clusters, most of which are well-preserved and feature unique architectural designs. They are greatly cherished by architects, archaeologists, and tourists alike. Stepping into the Shangshu Ancient Tulou in Shangshu Village, Tiepu Town, while crossing the threshold, one encounters a harmonious blend of antiquity and modernity. This ancient Tulou, one of the oldest among the 32 Tulou clusters in Tiepu, dates back to the late Yuan and early Ming dynasties. Looking up at the roof, one can see a network of wooden structures arranged intricately, adorned with subtle woodcarvings amidst its resplendent historical ambiance. This Tulou quietly incorporates elements of modernity as well. #artandculture

尚书村的尚书古寨

提起土楼，客家、福建等标签往往会浮现在人们的脑海中。然而不为人知的是，在福建以南的潮汕大地深处，亦“藏”有大批类似圆形围状风格的土楼民居群。它们掩映在崇山秀水之中长达数百年，其历史悠久、规模之大，丝毫不逊于客家土楼围寨群。

铁铺镇拥有32座土楼寨，大部分保存完好，建筑形式独特，深受建筑学家、考古专家和旅游观光者的喜爱。步入位于铁铺镇尚书村的尚书古寨，跨过近一尺的门槛，映入眼帘的古寨是古朴与现代气息的结合，是整个铁铺32座土楼群中历史最悠久的土楼之一，始建于元末明初。举头向屋顶望去，红色的楹木与黄色的桷片纵横排列，错落有致，些许木雕点缀其间，在冠荣华丽的年代感中亦悄然嵌入了一些现代元素。
