Using dough made mainly from flour, glutinous rice flour, and honey, Chinese dough figurine artisans create human figures from history, folktales, novels, and operas. It is a Chinese traditional folk art that has been passed down for over 2000 years. In Nanshan District, Shenzhen, Zhang Minzhong is a representative inheritor of Dough Figurine Intangible Cultural Heritage. He hails from Heze City, Shandong Province, and is the fourth-generation inheritor in his family, belonging to the Caozhou Li School. His grandfather, Zhang Wanchen, learned from Li Junxing and was a locally renowned dough modeling artisan during the 20th century. #artandculture
