On the afternoon of July 9, the Qiaopi History and Cultural Exhibition kicked off at the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce Tower in Thailand. Letters and remittance certificates sent by Chinese expatriates to China not only convey their homesickness but also reflect the vigorous exchanges between China and the world through the stories of families, cities, and countries. Lin Chuqin, chairman of the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce said that Qiaopi was familiar to him from his childhood and highly relevant to the experience of his father’s generation. And he was more surprised to find in the exhibition the letters his father sent back home. These letters are direct evidence of the importance overseas Chinese attached to kinship and how deeply they loved their hometowns. #artandculture
