When you enter the village, you are immediately immersed in the weight of history. The ancient brick walls, the weathered door locks, and the carvings on the roofs all tell the story of the past. Following the village road, you will see the watchtowers, gate towers, small western-style buildings, old trees, bridges, and stone-paved alleys all built along the water. The old rural houses with the curling smoke offer a picturesque setting reminiscent of a paradise on the earth.

广东省肇庆市澄湖村是“中国古村落”，是高要著名的侨乡。走进澄湖村，厚重的历史感扑面而来，古香古色的砖墙，斑驳的门锁，屋顶的浮雕，都在诉说着历史。沿着环村道一路走去，碉楼、门楼、小洋楼、古树、古桥、古石板巷皆绕水而建，乡村古舍，袅袅炊烟，一派世外桃源风光。
