On June 14th,the State Council Information Office of the People's Republic of China held a press conference on the preparation of the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 and the 4th Asian Para Games Hangzhou2022.
Li Yanyi, the vice-governor of Zhejiang Province, introduced that in the preparation for the Asian Games, Zhejiang has always acted on the concept of green, intelligent, frugal, and civilized competition. To be more specific, Zhejiang released Zero-waste Asian Games Improvement Action Plan and 10 detailed measures for zero waste, promoted the construction of 16 "Zero Waste Asian Games Cells" demonstration points, making every effort to create the world's first large-scale zero-waste event.
Regarding venue construction, Li further explained that in the planning stage of venue layout, Zhejiang followed the three principles of "renovating instead of building, repairing instead of replacing, renting instead of buying" to fully utilize existing venues and facilities. Among all the 56 Asian Games venues, 44 are renovated or built temporarily, and only 12 are newly constructed; among the 19 Asian Para Games venues, 17 are shared with the Asian Games, and the remaining two are also renovated venues.
During the venue design stage, the guidelines for green and healthy building design for the 19th Asian Games were released to maximize the use of clean and renewable energy by optimizing the design of building structures. For example, many venues use natural lighting to save energy and recycle rainwater and heat energy through circulation systems.
In terms of venue construction, Zhejiang promoted reducing solid waste at the source and reusing the waste, prioritizing the use of green building materials and construction waste with Building Information Modeling (BIM) to save materials and energy.
Meanwhile, such an idea of waste reduction is implemented in all areas of the event, including green accommodation, frugal catering, paperless events, and renewable materials, integrating the concept, behavior, and model of zero waste into the entire event from the preparation to the future use after the Asian Games.
打造全球首个大型“无废”赛事！杭州亚运会这样做
6月14日，国务院新闻办公室就杭州亚运会亚残运会筹办情况举行发布会。浙江省副省长李岩益介绍，在亚运会筹办过程中，浙江始终坚持绿色、智能、节俭、文明的办赛理念，出台了《无废亚运行动方案》，发出了“无废亚运”十条倡议，推进16个“无废亚运细胞”示范点建设，全力打造全球首个大型“无废”赛事。
以场馆建设为例，李岩益进一步介绍称，在场馆布局规划阶段，遵循能改不建、能修不换、能租不买的原则，充分利用现有的场馆和设施。56个亚运场馆中，有44个是改建或者临建的，只有12个是新建的；19个亚残运场馆中，有17个是跟亚运会兼用的，其余2个也是改建的场馆。
在场馆设计阶段，制定《第19届亚运会绿色健康建筑设计导则》，通过优化建筑结构的设计，最大限度利用清洁能源和可再生能源。比如，许多场馆利用自然采光节能，通过有机循环体系回收雨水和热能再利用等。
在场馆施工阶段，推进固废源头减量和资源化利用，优先使用绿色建材、绿色处理建筑垃圾，利用BIM技术节约施工材料和能耗。
同时，全领域推进源头减量，包括绿色住宿、节俭餐饮、无纸办赛、推广可再生材料等，将“无废”理念、行为、模式融入亚运筹备举办和赛后利用的全过程、各领域、各环节。
