The 19th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF), which is mainly held offline with a combination of online events, opened in Shenzhen on June 7th.
The current fair, compared to previous ones, actively introduces high-end cultural industry resources and showcased the latest achievements in cultural industry development all around the world, further enhancing the trading functions of the ICIF and upgrading it from the "No.1 fair of China's cultural industry" to a "leading international cultural industries event".
More than 300 overseas exhibitors have attended this year's event both online and offline from 50 countries and regions, including France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and Australia, among which professional institutions like France Industrie and Bonjour Brand are new participators.
As 2023 marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative, the ICIF re-established the Belt and Road International Pavilion offline, which features regions such as Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America, as well as international trade of cultural goods and services. This move thus helps to promote the participation of relevant institutions in the import and export trade of the fair and to significantly improve the structure and quality of exhibitors compared to previous editions.
The following are more details about the pavilions. The European Pavilion focuses on organizing exhibitors from countries and regions such as France, Germany, Poland, Belgium, and Bulgaria. The Asian Pavilion highlights the importance of ASEAN countries in the joint construction of the Belt and Road. The Middle East Pavilion emphasizes China's cultural cooperation and exchanges with Gulf countries (known as Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates) in the context of building a community with a shared future for the new era. The African Pavilion includes exhibitors from countries and regions such as Mali, Namibia, Togo, and Lesotho. The Latin American Pavilion has participants from Brazil, Argentina, Jamaica and other countries.
At the same time, the Cultural Import and Export Trade Pavilion features Czech crystals and Korean ceramics. In addition, a cross-border e-commerce section will be added to expand and strengthen the import and export trade of cultural products.
The ICIF this year provides a platform for domestic exhibitors to expand foreign cultural trade by matching and negotiating with their overseas counterparts and buyers in advance for communication and cooperation, with a set of events such as the China Cultural Trade Development Forum 2023 and the Cultural Import and Export Trade Negotiation Conference.
Meanwhile, it is expected that there will be a significant increase in the number of overseas professional visitors at the current event. Overseas buyers and spectators are invited to participate both online and offline, with an estimated 20,000 professional visitors from over 100 countries and regions attending.
