From June 10 to 11, an event marking the 2023 Cultural and Natural Heritage Day, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) Invitational Dragon Boat Race will both be held in Dongguan, the main venue of Guangdong.

With the dragon boat race as the highlight, the event to be held in the Guangdong venue will aim at presenting the achievements of intangible cultural heritage protection in recent years while promoting the people-to-people exchanges and integrated development in the GBA.

Intangible cultural heritage in modern life

This year, the event in the Guangdong venue boasts multiple unique activities. It will kick off with an eye-dotting ceremony of the dragon boats. Ten choicest tourists routes featuring Guangdong's intangible cultural heritage as well as the trail map of Guangdong's cultural relics will also be released at the opening ceremony, injecting attractive cultural content to the tourism industry in Guangdong to help build the GBA into a world-class tourist destination.

During the event, there will be a live-action landscape performance featuring Guangdong's intangible cultural heritage and the charm of Lingnan's water towns. Against such a backdrop, the performance is designed to present the connection between humans, water and boats, so as to unfold before tourists' eyes the cultural landscape and water region style in Lingnan.

The 2023 GBA Intangible Cultural Heritage Festival will be held around the Cultural and Natural Heritage Day, during which more than 200 intangible cultural heritage projects will be exhibited and put on sale in Dongguan Dragon Boat Park.

While at the same time, the Intangible Cultural Heritage Shopping Festival will also be held. Starting from June 10, branded intangible cultural heritage products with local characteristics from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao will be put on sale online at the "Dongguan Intangible Cultural Heritage Fair" for a month.

Compatriots gather to enjoy the event

Dragon boat culture, boasting a long history and a solid mass base, is a shared culture symbol in the GBA area. On the Cultural and Natural Heritage Day, an invitational dragon boat race will kick off in Dongguan, "the hometown of dragon boats". 18 dragon boat teams from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao were invited to compete in the race while the compatriots, representatives of youth and industries from Hong Kong and Macao will be the spectators to witness this dragon boat feast.

The urban dragon boat race will be carried out standardly according to the international convention, with each boat carrying 22 racers. It will also take into consideration the tradition of "Dragon Boat Month" in Dongguan, and carry out a traditional dragon boat race with each boat carrying 60 racers from the rural areas in Dongguan.

During the GBA Invitational Dragon Boat Race, which is the core event in the Guangdong venue, a series of activities with dragon boat as the theme will also be held at the same time, including the "dragon awakening ceremony", the dragon boat team parade, and the metaverse exhibition themed "Dragon in GBA", to display the aspiring character of striving for the lead in the GBA area.

非遗潮未来，龙腾大湾区：广东省“文化和自然遗产日”系列活动即将启动

今年的6月10日是“文化和自然遗产日”。记者获悉，2023年“文化和自然遗产日”广东主会场（东莞）暨粤港澳大湾区（广东）龙舟邀请赛将于6月10日至11日在东莞举办。

今年文化和自然遗产日广东主会场活动将以赛龙舟为特色亮点，重点展示近年来粤港澳三地的非遗保护成果，促进大湾区人文交流和融合发展。

建设人文湾区推动非遗融入现代生活

今年文化和自然遗产日广东主会场系列活动有诸多亮点：活动将以粤港澳龙舟点睛仪式拉开帷幕。启动仪式上，将发布十条广东非遗旅游精品线路、广东文物游径地图，为广东旅游业注入更富吸引力的文化内容，助力粤港澳大湾区世界级旅游目的地建设。

活动期间将打造“粤非遗·岭南水韵沉浸式实景演出”，以水为背景，以龙舟为元素，通过不同篇章呈现人、水、舟三者之间的连接和配合，让游客观湾区人文胜景，品岭南水乡风情。

在文化和自然遗产日前后举办2023粤港澳非遗生活节，整合粤港澳三地200多个非遗项目，集中在东莞沙田龙舟公园展示展销。

与此同时，将举办广东省第四届非遗购物节。6月10日起，粤港澳三地具有地方特色的品牌非遗产品将进驻“粤港澳东莞非遗墟市”线上商城，开展为期一个月的云上集市。

粤港澳乡亲欢聚一堂品味龙舟盛宴

龙舟文化在粤港澳地区历史悠久、群众基础深厚，是大湾区各城市同文同源、同德同心的文化符号。此次文化和自然遗产日广东主会场在“龙舟之乡”东莞市沙田镇举办粤港澳大湾区（广东）龙舟邀请赛。据介绍，本次邀请赛共邀请来自粤港澳的18支龙舟队伍参加，还将邀请港澳同乡会、港澳青年代表和行业代表到现场观赛，粤港澳乡亲齐聚品味龙舟盛宴。

本次龙舟赛粤港澳城市组将按国际大赛惯例，进行标准龙（一艇22人）比赛。据介绍，东莞素有“龙舟月”传统，本次龙舟赛将结合这一特色，特别组织东莞水乡10个镇街及沙田镇17个村（社区），按地方惯例进行传统龙舟（一艇60人）比赛。

作为广东主会场系列活动的主打项目，粤港澳大湾区（广东）龙舟邀请赛将同时进行起龙仪式、龙舟队巡礼、“老龙出海，云游粤港澳”元宇宙大展等系列龙舟主题活动，彰显粤港澳大湾区赛龙夺锦、奋勇争先的精神风貌。
