On April 2, the Statistics Bureau of Guangdong Province released a data analysis, showing that Guangdong's permanent residents and the registered population have both exceeded 100 million at the same time. It is also expected that, in 2023, the growth of permanent residents in Guangdong will gradually recover to stable. Besides having the most permanent residents, Guangdong is also the only province in China for having over 1 million newborns for three consecutive years, the number of which ranks first in China for five consecutive years.
Permanent residents and the registered population of Guangdong have both reached 100 million. To be more specific, according to the data, in 2022, the permanent residents reached 126.568 million, which accounted for 8.97% of the total national population, ranking the first in China. At the same time, the registered population reached 100.497 million with an increase of 1.028 million compared with that of last year, which was 1.03%.
By the end of 2022, there were 94.654 million permanent urban residents, while 31.914 million were rural. The share of urban population was 74.79% with a year-on-year increase of 0.16%, 9.57% higher than the national average. Except for three municipalities directly under the Central Government (Shanghai, Beijing, and Tianjin), Guangdong continued to rank first with the most urban residents.
In terms of the size of the birth population, Guangdong remained to be the most fertile province for its birth population led the country. In 2022, Guangdong had 1.052 million births with a birth rate of 8.30 ‰, while the mortality rate reached 4.97 ‰ with 0.63 million deaths. In total, the natural growth rate of the population was 3.33 ‰ with a number of 0.422 million. As a result, the Statistics Bureau of Guangdong Province pointed out that, Guangdong has already become the only province with a birth population exceeding 1 million for three consecutive years, and has become the first province of newborns in China for five consecutive years.
Currently, Guangdong ranks first in the country in terms of the size of the working age population. According to data from the seventh national census, the population aged 16-59 in Guangdong accounted for 67.86% of the province's permanent residents, 5.59 percentage points higher than the national average. In 2022, the working age population reached 84.751 million, accounting for 66.96% of the province's permanent residents, 4.94 percentage points higher than the national average. Guangdong's working age population accounted for 9.68% of that of the country.
The Bureau summarized that, with the economic and social development, the size and beneficial structure of Guangdong's population will remain stable for a long time, which means the labor resources will remain abundant. Also, permanent residents in Guangdong will keep increasing stably over a long period of time.
广东常住人口稳居全国第一,连续三年出生人口超百万
4月2日,广东省统计局发布数据分析称,广东是全国常住人口与户籍人口同时达到过亿体量的省份,预期2023年广东常住人口将逐步恢复稳定增长。值得注意的是,坐稳常住人口第一大省位置之余,广东也已连续三年成为唯一一个出生人口超100万的省份,连续五年成为第一生育大省。
数据显示,2022年,广东常住人口12656.8万人,占全国人口总量的8.97%,常住人口数量继续保持全国第一位;广东户籍人口10049.7万人,增加102.8万人,增长1.03%,成为全国常住人口与户籍人口同时达到过亿体量的省份。
2022年末,全省常住人口中,居住在城镇9465.4万人、居住在乡村3191.4万人;城镇人口比例74.79%,同比上升0.16个百分点。与同期全国平均水平相比高出9.57个百分点,继续位居上海、北京、天津3个直辖市后全国人口城镇化率的省域之首。
从出生人口规模来看,广东依然是最“能生”的省份,出生人口领跑全国。2022年,广东省出生105.2万人,出生率8.30‰,死亡63.0万人,死亡率4.97‰;自然增长42.2万人,自然增长率3.33‰。广东省统计局指出,广东连续三年成为唯一一个出生人口超100万的省份,连续五年成为第一生育大省。
当前,广东劳动年龄人口规模位居全国第一。第七次全国人口普查数据显示,广东16-59岁劳动年龄人口占全省常住人口的67.86%,高于全国平均水平5.59个百分点。2022年,广东16-59岁劳动年龄人口8475.1万人,占全省常住人口的66.96%,高于全国平均水平4.94个百分点,广东劳动年龄人口占全国劳动年龄人口比重达到9.68%。
广东省统计局指出,随着经济社会发展,广东人口规模及其结构优势将长期保持稳定,劳动力资源依然丰富,常住人口保持长期稳定增长趋势不会改变。
