This station connects Tongdewei with the rest areas of Guangzhou, which made locals' dreams come true.

Xicun Station represents the hard work and dedication of the construction team, said the team leader in front of the control room.

Early in the morning, the station attracted many curious locals, who stopped to take pictures of the ancient tree located just 10 meters away at the G entrance. This tree, with its gnarled roots and towering height, stands in stark contrast to the new station, and together they showcase the blend of history and progress in Guangzhou's urban revival process and the great efforts of the construction personnel.

广州市荔湾区西村街道多了件热闹事儿。12月28日，片区居民翘首盼望了两年的八号线西村站终于开通了。这是一个为片区居民实现东西南北通达梦的车站，一大早，新车站引得周边居民争相观光体验之余，一旁的车站控制室前，建设方负责人也向记者道出了实现该梦想背后的艰辛和不易。

在八号线西村站的G出入口，距离十米左右有一棵盘根错节、几十米高的古树，阳光洒下来，新车站与古树形成了鲜明的对比，经过此处的市民纷纷掏出手机拍照打卡。
